my point is comparing a utility tractor to a CUT is not the same thing. CUTs you pay a premium for their versatility.

The OP simply asked if there were any other HST tractors over 60hp....no mention of size category. Pretty simple really.

He also mentioned that, although has the money for a new 4720, he is looking for maybe a used one or as pointed out, another alternative 60hp host for snowblower.

My point is that $ for $ of hp, SCUT would be highest, then CUT, and finally UT.

All I am saying.

I have considered the M59, but still a little shy on pto power. The 4720 was tested at 59 pto hp, Kubota claims about 45 on the M59. I just wish Kubota submitted their tractors to the Nebraska testing.

I looked into putting a turbo on the 110 but couldn't find any info on the tranny for the 110. The Yanmar TNV engines are turbocharged in some configurations, so that part isn't as difficult aside from the fab work. Just not sure what power the tractor will take and there isn't much room under that hood.

I've noticed quite a few people wanting bigger hst tractors lately. I hope the manufacturers start picking up on this too... I mean good grief I run a 180 hp 24 ton dozer at work that's hydrostatic surely they can pull off a Hst tractor that's 60 or more hp at the pto!

It's actually 48.3hp at the PTO.

Thanks for the correction. I find it funny there's that much difference between the cab and open station tractors....I would hope the 43 hp is a typo.

I've noticed quite a few people wanting bigger hst tractors lately. I hope the manufacturers start picking up on this too...

I'm with you, although I think I'd rather a true powershift style transmission in a utility sized tractor rather than HST. I'd like the ability to not run at high RPM all the time, but never have to use the clutch to shift, whether it be gears or ranges.

As nice as the M59 is, it's not really a viable option for someone wanting near 60hp at the PTO. I really wish manufacturers would use either the PTO hp or drawbar hp as a standard to rate the tractors. The fact that the engine puts out 55 or 60hp or whatever, is immaterial and useless information.

I agree completely on the hydraulic shuttle on a utility tractor. If/when I ever go up to that size, that's what I'll be looking for.

One thing I've noticed on Drawbar vs. PTO horsepower is that a lot of OLD tractors had MORE PTO horsepower than drawbar HP. For example, TractorData.com shows the John Deere 4020 tested at 84 drawbar HP and 96 PTO hp. The Farmall 806 was about the same.

Yeah, you wouldn't think 60-85hp or so would be all that difficult! It might be one of those things that once you go beyond a certain size, they jump in price significantly....not a big deal on a $500K dozer, but a big deal on a $50K tractor.

I'm a believer in power shuttle as well but I wish they could do hst on small tractors like they do on the Deere dozers I've run. It's hydrostatic drive but operates as a shuttle so to speak. The power management system makes it the berries. In a speed range from 1 to 3 you can drop the blade wide open at travel speed and start cutting dirt and the pumps adjust to engine load instantly without having to manually reduce speed in any way. This is similar to hst+ on the kubotas but still better. It could be this technology is still to expensive for utility tractors though.

I believe Massey/Iseki also has an HST system with the anti-stall feature, that adds RPM's automatically to match speed.

That's a feature I'd like to see in a 60 HP, small utility sized tractor, with a utility sized loader that lifts over 3000 lbs & with breakout over 5000 lbs, to 108" height or higher.

Being a happy LS customer, I'd probably trade in tomorrow if they offered that HST on the U5030 or XU5065 .
