high low lever on TO 35

it is one of two "ears" on the lever that rotates with the clutch pedal and pushes the throwout bearing to disengage. So far, I have not found the part. What all should I replace while going in there. I understand the loader needs to be detached and the tractor split. Question is what would break off one of those cast iron "ears"?

It does take considerable force too disengage the clutch but its built for that.
The part pivots from two short shafts that go through the bellhousing. There is a bushing in the bellhousing. If the bushing is worn on the peddle side it may have allowed misalignment putting more pressure on that one of the two sides that push the throw out bearing.
I looked online and did find one that specified for A TO35. Used, I believe the part you need is in this link.

Massey Ferguson TO35 tractor transmission shifter shift fork w/ shaft | eBay

Check on Tractor by net to buy first.

When you replace it put in new bushings and those short shafts if needed. I think they interchange with later 35 models. Misalignment from wear in bushings may have broke it. I recently did this job on a 203

Sorry about the UK Parts links. The fork is available in USA. The two shafts I think I had to order from India.

If those bushings that mllud talked about are ok, I'd check your throw out bearing to make sure it is in good shape and then make sure that the ears on the clutch that the throw out bearing pushes against are in good shape. Might take a mirror or inspection camera to see that. If one of those clutch ears is broken, that might explain why your throw out bearing release ear broke. Hopefully those items are ok. If not you definitely have to split the tractor. If it is just the broken throw out bearing release just inexplicably broke..., I think you can change it without splitting the tractor. You might look for parts at a tractor junkyard. Both gas and diesel TO35's use the same parts in the clutch area, which broadens the availability. There are lots of them in the salvage lots. Hopefully your clutch is OK. New ones are available but those two stage clutches aren't cheap and fairly tricky to install.

You might be able to try pushing your throw out bearing ahead by hand. If it tries to cock side-ways, you definitely have a clutch problem.

thanks for taking the time once again to help me troubleshoot. throwout bearing was seized and broke one ear off the two-eared lever. Replaced clutch and pressure plate and all is working for my fall chores. I had a chance to make some money on a side job though I am retired. So, I hired a good local old tractor mechanic since the project involved removing all the loader structure and some other parts to split the tractor. It was a good move all round and nice to have the use of it. The "clunk" may have disappeared also! My hearing was such that I may have been missing where that noise came from and wrongly assumed it was some fault in the rearend work I had done. Best to you all for the coming fall and winter.

Glad to hear you got it fixed and thanks for taking the time to follow up on this thread. So many people report a problem, ask for advice, and you never hear from them again:)
