I compare it to being a Cadallac dealer in a town with several Kia dealers. Sure, the cars all have engines, tires, and a steering wheel but some people prefer luxury and the best of the best, and for that, we are here for them.

Regards,
Larry

I too am surprised at how offensive you are and that you would not realize that it is ill-advised to write such drivel and attach your busiiness name to it.

Larry,

You are not going to win many converts with your style of rhetoric.

I am somewhat disappointed in your response here. You should save ranting for the NH section. In the Kubota section you will simply chase potential customers away.

I am an intelligent buyer. I have spent large sums on money on tractors. While I have learned a lot from TBN, I also have ready access to U of Illinois and MIT professors. Some who work for me, or in the case of U of I, I work for them. These people know their stuff from both engineering perspective and practical farming experience. They all say the same thing-when it comes to CUTs, the big 3 all have trade offs.

To state that NH has mechanical superiority over Kubota insults my intelligence. Would you also say the same thing about JD? That would prove to be equally ignorant. If NH was the best then they would have greater market share. They have a ways to go.

If I follow your logic, which admittedly escapes me at times, finance and selling price should not be part of the success formula? Unless you live in China this is not true. Selling price and cost of operation is always part of a business decision. Loyalty and R before I (Relationship before Issue) is also a key. I can assure you by presenting subjective talking points in the Kubota section of TBN-you are not addressing the relationship thing.

Come on Larry-you can do better then that.

Wow...you guys are a sensitive bunch.

Where are you getting this "vile attack" stuff from? Are you actually reading what I am writing? I am stating that you have every right to defend your purchase and choice of tractor. I have not stated anything false here, these are all facts and observations.

This has gotten out of hand. You know I looked deeper in the Kubota thread and I have seen before where simple comments have exploded into out of control witch hunts. Take this one for example:

Bob Shakura from the "class action lawsuit to benefit Kubota BX owners" thread
I don't think Neil stirred up the pot at all, all he did was make a valid observation. What amazes me is that when someone points out something legitimate that people then criticize the people who simply speak. Heck, look at the thread that HIGHBEAM started about his new CK30, he details about a half dozen problems with his tractor. None of the problems are mechanically threatening, however each is a problem. Yet if someone who didn't own a Kioti pointed out that the "fit and finish" of the Kioti was clearly inferior he would be shouted down. Yet, his thread clearly shows that the ergonomics of the CK30 and the quality of the fit/finish are certainly worth questioning. And none of that is to say that the CK30 is not a good tractor, but it certianly points out that there are differences between brands. And if his thread is not enough, there are other threads that have also been started about people bending keys. Or modifying radiator pre screens. Or the fact that the oil filter is hanging down unprotected. But heaven forbid a Kubota dealer or owner ever suggest that a Kioti is not as well designed or built as a major brand. Lets be real honest here, Kioti has something like a 1% market share in the real world but here on TBN you'd almost believe that it was the dominant brand in the world. I'm not taking anything away from their tractors, I have recommended several models, but there is certianly a lot of room to improve that brand. And it is also valid to make comments about it.

Its the same thing here and I applaud his input. What gives anyone the right to state that what I posted was vile? Just because you own a Kubota? That's not right and you know it. People love to take advantage of an opportunity to bash someone and blame it on someone else. Arn't we all adults here? It seems the only things you can post here are politacally correct statements that have been carefully reviewed for content so as not to offend anyone or anything. Then what is the sense of a forum if you cant discuss differences in the marketplace in a cival matter?

Whether I am a dealer or not, I am just as entitled to my opinion as anyone else on here. What started out as an offer for advice and maybe an answer to a question or problem has turned into a viscous attack against me and I dont appreciate it but I know, you could care less. If you thought before you typed, you might actually realize that I have information that you could use and benefit from but at this point I might as well cancel my membership before I am burned at the stake.

I cannot believe you could be so offensive as a dealer. When someone, let alone a "dealer", mounts a vile viscious attack like this thread's turned into it's time to start looking at thread lock. Moderators?

Just stop with all the drama glowplug. It's a good discussion. We don't need a moderator to step in and lock up the thread. Good grief...

I was unaware any one was crucified? If some one has a thin skin here then they should not stir the pot.

Larry was in the wrong place spewing the wrong message to the wrong crew.

Sorry-if you don't like it- too bad.

By all means...type them out...I'd like to see them actually. What points does Kubota use to knock the NH product. I'm actually curious at this point more than anything else. Being a NH dealer I may actually be "blind" to the faults, refusing to recognize them, if you will.

It really doesnt matter to me in the long run because I have plenty of clients and repeat customers that are willing to pay a little more and feel there is true value in what they are buying.

I only poked around on this side of the forum just to see what all the fuss was about and I was wondering how long it would take for the alarms to go off and the brand bashing to start.

Its too bad it has to be that way because again, that was not my intension. I believe I have knowledge that I can share with the group regardless of what they own and like. Being on this side of the desk gives you a different perspective on the business side of things. You know as well as I do that from a salesman standpoint, you sell what is easiest to sell and what you will make the most profit on. I would bet that in multi-line dealerships that carry NH as one of them, most of the salesman START off by showing the Kubota just to avoid the sticker shock of a NH tractor. I know I would if given that opportunity, its just human nature.

Think for a minute if you were loyal to just one brand. How hard do you think that would be? Have you ever worked for a dealership that only sold one major brand? Its a totally differnt environment, one with a sense of compassion for the product and its offerings and less like a Walmart where there are TOO many choices that the customer ends up taking the easy choice for the sake of deciding and guess what that choice is? Of course, "I'll take the one that will do the job and cost me the least amount of money every month"....who wouldnt make that choice given that situation? Unless you have money to burn, I dont see people lining up to pay more!

I am serious about the list though...if you have one...throw it up here for all to see...take your swipe at NH at my expense, I can take it.

If worse comes to worse, we can always hook chains!... :)

I prefer reliability over these special features mentioned; and Kubota wins that issue, and in my fleet I own both!!
