Hi guys,
I was on the job today with my Hitachi rotary hammer drill, chipping away some concrete.
Well it did this on the last job, too.
When I pull the trigger the motor spins fine, but when I press the chisel to the work with the motor spinning it just softly pats it, really not doing anything.
After a while, eventually with some hard pushing or smacking it into the concrete, it will begin to hammer, and then act like it should and chip concrete.
I thought it was a grease issue, and I put some automotive grease in the gearbox, because I was on a very rural job at the time and that was all they had. It worked and got me through the job, but today it took a few minutes before it began to hammer like normal.
Can anyone give me any ideas as to why it could be doing this?
