The weather finally let up and I got my beam drilled for the column bolts (see attachment).

I like the “Gin Pole” idea but I already finished my A-frame approach.

Tomorrow is lift day. Probably my last chance to get it placed and painted before winter sets in.

What the weather is like in Arizona (AZ) probably doesn't affect his weather in Arkansas (AR).

Things always take longer than expected… Anyway, got everything rigged-up and took the beam up a couple feet. Everything worked as expected except I noticed a little lip at the column top that the beam must get around. Just have to figure a way to get around it and then it should be resting in place today.

It’s up! Went pretty smoothly until I hit that lip. Used some rope to pull it around and then it swung right into place.

Time for breakfast. Even though I’m pretty sure of myself you still get on edge when doing something like this.
