Nice work.

The wheels might need to have foam added. Their ability to hold air isn't too reliable. I seem to spend a great deal of time installing new tubes in these for people.

Thanks Gee. The foam idea sounds good. I've always had luck with filling the small pneumatic tires with Slime, the green self seal stuff. If you're raking a lot or making money at it, the foam is a good option. I like the adjustability of air tires and I am definitely not raking much, just a few times a year for me or friends. I've even set the wheels high enough to hold the tines up about 1 1/2 inches so I can rake the leaf piles without beating up the lawn. The more solid tires might not be as forgiving. Either way, if Harbor Freight only sold big solid casters for the same price, I probably would have bought them!

There must be a reason that York makes them pneumatic too. I just tried to copy York on the cheap. :D

The TSC wheel set was $324.00

:D

Guess that explains why my "Anti-scalp ki" for my NH rear mount finish mower was in the 130 dollar range. I was a bit surprised when it showed up in an 8" square box! It was a roughly 6"x4" plastic roller, a 3/8" axle rod, and two cotter pins. Glad it was a peace offering from the regional sales rep, because it didn't make a bit of difference!

Ah that's what I like. An idea that's well thought out and then put into action. Very nice design and workmanship. Oh. You might want to keep an eye out for your postman. Somethings on the way today from Newfoundland

Nice work:thumbsup:
As I read with interest GE222 speaks of foam filling tires to prevent flats. Any information on how to do this and what type of foam to use?

Around here the postman only rings once. (thank God!)
Thanks 4shorts for your comments and compliments. That paint makes the welding look way better than it is... But so far, it's held together.

I'm thinking about a simple set of brush forks next. That'll keep me occupied for a bit. Or maybe that brake warning light! I've got to check out the switch options.

Window Geek,

Nice work on the gauge wheels. Hope you have better luck than I did with the HF air-filled tires. I originally had them on my gauge wheels and one blew out within about the first half hour of operation. I have since switched over to solid tires.
