Horsepower Vs Maneuverability

Sounds like ur tractor size exceeded your driver size. :)

Tractor A sounds far more reasonable in the long run for 2 acres, but 3300 pounds is 2 or 3 times too heavy for mowing a lawn. . .

Depends on the ground. My Ford 2600 diesel weighs more than that, and it's my "lawnmower." (with a 72" finish mower) I never leave a track in my yard.

It was a no issue for me. Cannot use a tractor bigger than 25 hp. Really only need 18, but cannot get one with all the goodies, etc. JD plain isn't making any less than about 24.5.

Started off with a 12 hp Gravely. It just didn't have the traction to safely go up and down our hill behind the house. Until I got steering brakes on it, it was not usable. I could not handle it.

Sounds like the classic (Ritothe) Bull in the China Shop.

I always recommend to look at what you will spend the most time doing. That does mean not buying to big as well as diesels like to be run! So if you look at what you will be doing after the excavation work with the brush hogging and mowing buy for that and then make a decision on your excavation work.
