Kubota mx5200, bought march 2015. Has 700+ hours on it now. So about 400 hours or little more per year. I use it for my own property maintenance, but also com firewood and bushhogging. Been a great tractor.

L5240 bought May 2013. 190 hrs on it now 190/3.5 = 55-ish/yr I put most of that in the first two years. I previously had an L3130 that I put a good 200+ hrs on it in 3 yrs, mainly logging work. Now that the major house build work is done, the main tasks are firewood and snow removal. I'm expecting 20-4- hrs/ yr going forward.

I'm trying to remember...

Yanmar YM 1700 Owned 13 years 50 hrs/yr
New Holland 1720 Owned 10 years 60 hrs/yr
Ford 4610 SU Owned 1.5 years 40 hrs/yr
NH Workmaster 50 Owned 5 months 60 hrs

My Yanmar and 1720 was used only for mowing. In 2011 that last 5 years of ownership of the 1720 I purchased an FEL for it thus the extra hours. During those years I used other tractors on the farm to mostly brush hog. Since those tractors are now gone the 50 and SU will take up those additional chores. I expect to average around 100 plus hours per year.

Since 2009 with a BX2660 and now a 2012 B2620, I been averaging 100 hours per year doing a variety of HO jobs but mowing takes up the most.

Happy Thanksgiving for the good years past and more to come.

I wonder in say, the 50s, how many hours did they put on a tractor?

My hour meter moves in relation to engine speed - one hour at 2500 rpm adds 1.0 hours to the meter. Since I rarely run at top speed my hours show lower than the actual operating time.

I've owned the B3030 for about 7 years and have put on about 320 meter hours - mostly mowing or snow removal.

Hard to say, but my brother and a co-worker of mine both have Ford 8N's and they both only have around 2200-2400 hours showing on their meters

60+ year old tractors with 2200 hours? Probably rolled the meter over.

Update on hours per year. The 1999 Kubota L3710 HST has about 750 hours on it. It had about 350 hours when I bought it 2003 and I've only put 400 hours on it in 15 years for an average of about 27 hours per year.

Interesting differences among the posters. Considering four tractors over the last 20 years (no two owned at the same time), I think we have averaged about 50 hours per year.

1984 L2550DT with approximately 5800 hours. 168/year. Not much use really.

Kubota M6040 - I purchased new in 2009. Not much winter snow since 2009 - so, its got 483 hours.

My last tractor, a B2910 had just under 1900 hours when I traded it in. Bought new in 2001, average is about 112 hours per year.

My new tractor, a B2650 has about 132 hours in about 9 months, average about 176 hours per year.

I still get a big smile when I crawl in my tractor, it never gets old. :):cool2:

BX2370 purchased in January 2017, now at about 120 hours most of which I attribute to putting in a horse arena spreading and levelling packing sand.
Not complete yet and another zillion truckloads of sand to put on after winter so that will double the hours, after that it will just be a few hours maintaining property, repairing fences and moving heavy stuff around.

BX24 with almost 500 hours. I put 100 hours per year for just over four years. Previous owner put 10 hours per year. The tractor has been a godsend. I can complete projects I would have to hire a contractor for. It’s just plane fun to have around as a tool. Being able to execute a project as soon as I have thought it through is great.
