When I was working for a company that produced sporting firearms, we often advertised a new product before it was ready to ship. While that can build some anticipation, it also gives the competitors time to think if the idea is worthwhile, and sometimes points out markets they hadn't thought about. They sit there saying,"Hmm, Deere thinks there is enough market for autoconnect on their small tractors, wonder if they are right?" Once we were going to introduce a gun that wasn't available from an American manufacturer. There were pre production issues after the gun had appeared in our catalog, and by the time our gun hit the street other companies had made arrangements with companies overseas to be producing a gun that met those specs at the price point we had deemed right for the market. I hope Deere doesn't do that with the new 1000 series tractors. It's bad enough that they missed the spring tractor buying season. I know there are lots of folks like me that can't, or don't want to wait for the next buying season for things we need / want this year.

Don't feel bad for JD as they prolly can take the lumps (they've been testing the autoconnect for at least 20 years, that I know of) if they need to on this. It wouldn't be the first one, and prolly not their last. :)

But then, you are prolly not interested in Deere anyway....having all Kub's it appears. ;)

Actually I like the JD products pretty well. When I went shopping, I was also starting chemotherapy, and had some projects I wanted to see done......... my way. :D :D I couldn't find a JD dealer that had what I was looking for (2320 /2520) in stock with the loader, etc. They also couldn't really pin down a delivery date. Three Kubota dealers had just that combination in stock so that is what I bought. As things turned out I am still in the fight so I guess there wasn't as much rush as they thought there was, but I have enjoyed my tractor a lot......... and I would have if it were green too.

No, worked for Sturm Ruger further north.

I was going to guess Ruger. Have a bunch of its rifles and they are pretty much the only rifles I use for hunting. Great company in my opinion. I'll buy another Ruger rifle as my next gun purchase. Just prefer Benelli/Beretta shotguns and HK handguns.

Sorry to hear about the cancer, but happy to hear you are fighting it.

I dropped by my local Deere dealer last week. The salesman (totally unprompted) mentioned that a 1 series might meet my needs. He said they were expecting delivery of the first units quite soon.

Deere really dropped the ball on the 1 series release but this could still turn into a big seller for them over the long haul. I do wonder where the might be cutting corners considering the added features but (expected) lower pricing than the comparable 2000 series machines.

Enjoy your orange tractor! Around here (NH seacoast area) most of the lawn and garden tractors are green and most of the CUTs and SCUTs are Kubota orange. Best wishes from another NHite.
