Am I the only one that has no idea what this sentence (?) is supposed to mean?
They didn't say anything about it until all the kids were grown and married.

Went to a new catholic grammar school as did my brother. He was in the 5th grade and I was in 4th. The principal always taught the highest grade and they added a grade each year up to the 8th grade. My wife and her twin sister were in my brothers grade and I spent a lot of time in their classroom. My brother married her twin and I married my wife who knew me from 4th grade. It's has been 47 years this year for us. I kid her that she was attracted to bad boys.

At a bar..
I was so drunk, I thought she was twins, and I was about to live out a young man’s fantasy
While she was but just one person,
And no fantasies were lived out that night…. apparently she was “the one”
because that night was over 25 years ago, and we have been together ever since

Went to a small country school with mine from first grade until graduation. Didn't date until the last half of our senior year. We were friends first and actually tried to fix each other up with others once or twice. Then a common friend, also a classmate, told us we would be perfect together. So I asked my best friend out on a real date. Turned out the classmate was correct. It will be fifty years next August. When we got married we were both 'adopted' into the other's extended families. Probably unusual for this day and time, four of my five grands have been baby-sat by a great-great-aunt.

Two daughters, now five grands, and living a happy retirement.

Oh yeah, I had great in-laws but the first Christmas after we married one of the gifts I opened was a pig's tail, fresh from a pig that morning. Her aunt still laughs about it.

At work, I managed to see her in an office. Being bold I went right through a restricted area to ask her out for lunch. My co-workers then decided to lock me out of my escape path and turn the alarms on.

She said yes, showed me how to get out of her office. We dated for about a year after that. I took an overseas assignment, but she said the only way she would wait is if it was a commitment. Two years later when I came back, we were married. Going on 37 years in a few days.

The night I met my wife I had the rare experience of meeting about 30 of her family members too. I went to a Christmas Eve church service at the church that she and her family attended. It was my first time there. It ended with a get together afterwards and, as a bachelor living on my own, I was on board for staying and having some food, games, playing some cards, and having some fun.

My future wife and I hit it off very well, and her dad was even my partner for a couple euchre games that evening. She and I talked and got together the day after Christmas, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day, etc…….

I was 31 and she was 25 at the time, and we were both off work for the holidays. By the time New Years Day rolled around the subject of marriage had already come up. On day 10 after meeting I asked her to marry me. She agreed, and we have spent 20 more Christmases together and counting.

It’s one of the fastest decisions I have made in life. There was an instant bond, comfort, and level of honesty that I could not imagine I would ever experience after the prior decade spent floundering in confusion on the dating scene.

One piece of advice that I’m thankful for receiving came to me in my early 20s. An older gentleman that I respected told me that I needed to focus on improving the quality of the finished product that I’m offering. A good quality product will attract a quality buyer. And he explained this to me more than once.

Because of his advice and stuff I witnessed friends going through, by age 31 I was on a financially sound footing and had overcome most of the habits and behaviors that I witnessed causing strain in other peoples marriages. In the long run I believe the extra time it took to find my wife is the very thing that enabled me to act decisively and to secure her quick agreement, and to secure the agreement from her parents that she wanted. That’s a fun conversation to have after 10 days.

1st wife at a bar obviously and thankfully didn't work out finally realized bars aren't good for meeting potential partners, only after putting the sauce down for good lol. 2nd wife online, due to the app using straightline as the crow flies distance she lived a lot closer than how long it took to actually drive. As things got more involved I packed up everything and moved back to Michigan to start over for the last time. Happily married for over 6 yrs now with 2 amazing step kids and a wonderful 5yr old. Good luck. Btw growing up in a step family learned a lot on how to make a relationship like this work.

I was lunch line cafeteria cashier for almost 4 years in High School… knew everyone but no romance.

Second week Freshman year I made a comment the line was moving to slow… the teacher cashier said ok wise guy… you do it and walked off… little did I know one remark would turn into a job…
