like crossing muddy creeks, and such.I have a teryx but want the cab. I have been driving them around on the dealer lots and like it alot but it is a tank. anybody get one hung up? not looking to do serious offroading but curious about its ability. also researched it on here for any issues mechanically but havent seen any..am i missing anything?

Well i don't have a 1100 so i can't speek for that machine but i do have a Kubota 900 which is just about the same size with a slightly smaller engine. I Love it! True, it might seem like a tank, but it is built to last! I did have mine buried in the mud with over a ton of rocks in the box but it was my own fault cause i was going to slow through the mud. My machine is used for work almost all the time but does nicely on a trail ride. It does not have speed of the other machines but like i say it was bought as a work machine. I am 100 percent happy with it and i would definately do it all over again! . . .John

Have the RTV1100 and love it. It performs very well offroad. Goes over our streams and through mud no problem. Very seldom do I have to use 4 wheel drive or diff lock. The cab is wonderfull with heat and AC

I have a RTV1140 and have owned it for over 2 years. Goes great in snow, thru the creek and up steep hills while carrying a payload of 4 people and the bed full. I mostly use 2wd M and if snow or really steep will go to 4wd L and rarely use dif lock but I'm not a mudder. Just really steep and snow covered fields, ditches and creeks and of course to the Fuel station for the rare need for more fuel and usually take a few 5 gal containers to get fuel for my tractors while there.

I have the RTV900 and it does great. I've been in some deep mud doing bridal trail maintenance and it amazes me.

I am on my second rtv1100 and am very happy with it. The 1100 struggles in off camber situations because it is so stiff and will not flex with the terrain. With the right tires (very important) it will go almost anywhere. The cab is great. A/c cools well even on the hottest days.

My 900RTV is same, very little flex to the frame so you have to cross ditches straight across or fast enough to power thru otherwise you will end up with only 2 wheels on the ground. BUT, you can haul huge loads with not problem with the Kubota RTV's. I have had my bed rounded up with rocks and the hydraulic dump bed dumped it on an idle without a problem.
Some folks have put larger tires on them for mudding and like them that way. I just use the factory supplied ATV tire and it goes in all the mud that I have but that isnt a lot. Yesterday I was clearing some fence line and used the RTV to just push thru some small saplings like a dozer. These things really are like a tank and gets fantastic fuel economy. I only have about 220 hours on mine but no problem as yet.
Get a winch and heavy bumper, and make sure you get the glass windshield as the plexiglass ones dont last long before the scratch up badly. The 1100 may come standard with glass windshield but it was an $800 option on my 2009 model RTV 900 but worth every penny. MY brother in law has a same year model Gator with plexi windshield that has never been in the woods and it is so scratched you can hardly see out it when facing the sun. Just wiping or washing off the mud and dirt will ruin the vision on them.

I have an 1140.
Once, I got out into a wet field, using 4wd, and got hung up because it sank all the way to the axle and the mud was getting deeper still. My poor judgement.

I got my Grand L 5030 to get it out, had to study very hard where to drive the tractor to get the best footing available, used about 50 feet of tow chains.

I backed in, hooked to the drawbar and had to use the FEL about 10 times to pull the tractor and entire rig forward before the 4wd of the tractor was sufficient to pull the rig on out.

Net...you CAN stick it in mud, but only because it sinks all the way to the chassis and hangs up. Tractor was stuck, too, it just had the FEL and I knew how to use it to pull the tractor out.

Ground height is a tradeoff...it's very easy to get into and out of, good for my bad knees and wife's bad hip...but this means it's kinda low to ground thus can occasionally bump rocks or stumps...as noted in another post, one can get larger/taller tires for it to gain a bit more ground clearance, but only next size up...get too big and apparently the tires start hitting the wheelwell during turns.

It's turn radius is not as tight as I'd like.

Other than the above, my RTV is magnificent. I call it the BOMB...Beast Of Many Burdens...I have had no mechanical problems

The speed is all a person would want while going across the pasture/off road...a bit over 20 mph...ride is more smooth than you would think, but if you hit a real cow trail at that speed, it rattles your teeth.....any faster nobody needs...it's a work vehicle...not a play vehicle you experiment with to see how tippy you can make it before turning over.

Price wise, am sure it's influenced by location, and I haven 't priced lately. I did get prices from about 7 dealers in a radius of 200 miles. About half were willing to come off of the MSRP, the others were not. I dickered with a couple of them and they further reduced the price...ultimately chose the closest, they had best price, and got them to throw in a WSM and first 50 hr oil change materials. I spent less than you mention by couple thousand, but it was couple of years ago, in Texas.

Daddy's will walk pretty good but he prefers our older 900. His seems to have less room in drivers seat. Anyone else think that or is my wife right about my figure ?

Do you remember what msrp was? $1000 a year is kinda a steep increase. The tippieness will be a concern.

Sorry I confused you...the 1140 is NOT particularly tippy. Reasonable sense keeps it on its wheels while you slide in the seat and hold on to stuff on slopes. or put on the seat belt!!

I was referring to people who like to take corners at high speed with their vehicles for thrills...speed of 1140 is all anyone really needs, but does not approach the speeds of daredevils on wheels. Of course, with effort, one can make anything unsafe. MSRP was maybe 17/18K, don't remember too well...lots of options affect price...windshield, cab, high rise air intake (totally needed), etc.

Do you remember what msrp was? $1000 a year is kinda a steep increase. The tippieness will be a concern.

The MSRP is around $20,500
I paid $16,800 for mine last year with the aluminum wheels \ ATV type tires, and spray in bedliner

I wouldn't go with a larger size tire for off road use, just one with more aggressive tread. The bar tread type like itp 589 pull well in the soft stuff.

Thanks guys. Got mine today. $17200. It's got the atv tires. Now I need to read the post about installing the radio. I was quoted $17500 with the aluminum rims, they are nice but would just stay covered in poo so steel will work.

I sunk mine almost to the frame...Completely my fault. Drove though a slanted pasture during a spring thaw..Slid down the hill and sunk it.

Didn't want to bring a tractor to its resting spot...So I pretty much built a deck under it to get it out...Something I'd love to forget ever happened.

Mine goes like a goat in the snow and in virually all uses...A little caution goes a long way in super mucky areas..The 1100 is pretty heavy in a concentrated area...A good and sometimes bad thing.

Congrats on your purchase, you'll love it as I do mine.

Already been looking online for them and the rear. Are all wires there for switch and lights?
