We will survive, well most of us will but the quality of life will suffer. Bottom line.

... nobody will survive unless we sustain our economy? You may be safe and secure but there痴 probably over millions of Americans who will perish without food and shelter.
We need to realize that depression ...

Right now the economy is trashed. It's "depressed" right now...

We will need a better group of thinkers across the spectrum to figure out a new way to go forward.

The old models, i.e. print money, get a job, will not sustain us going forward. The normal we all seek, just is not there anymore. It's a different world.

Americans are resilient...The gloom and doomers have no insight...when doors close others open...

Large companies taking money away from small businesses will suffer the consequences...the public is taking notice of the companies returning the corporate handouts and they will be rewarded...

" Depressed " and " Depression " (as in the great depression) are two VERY different things.
The economy has taken a hit, for sure, but it is not trashed. Its recovered nearly 40% from its lows.
If getting a job is not a way to sustain us going forward, then you must have a new philosophy as to how one sustains themselves. Last I checked, everyone sitting at home sucking their thumbs because we have a disease spreading with a ever decreasing fatality rate isnt an answer.
Weve had pandemics before, mush worse pandemics. After they subsided, the " get a job to sustain oneself " outlook on life didnt stop. 700,000 Americans died from the Spanish Flu and tens of thousands died from the Swine Flu. Aside from improving medical technologies to deal with them, we went on a capitalist country.

Sir, I take a long hard look at everything related, but do you realize that nobody will survive unless we sustain our economy? You may be safe and secure but there痴 probably over millions of Americans who will perish without food and shelter.
We need to realize that depression will kill more than the virus! We are also finding out that the death rate will be much lower than projected. With all the flu deaths every year, do we shut the whole economy down? The flu has a vaccine and still kills more people. And the flu kills young people, too.

I知 not saying let痴 have everything open up, cruises, airplanes, restaurants, etc. Not at all. And I appreciate your concern for your fellow man.
I知 saying let痴 responsibly open up businesses that are needlessly shuttered and keep up the gloves, masks, hand washing, etc.

The flu is a known virus that has been with us for a long time. Hospitals and Dr's are used to dealing with it each year. These new COVID-19 casualties are IN ADDITION TO all current illnesses, and, apparently, more contagious. Until the medical facilities and personnel can catch up, until people can get tested to see if they've had it or not, until a vaccine is available, most people feel we should proceed with caution, and not open things back up yet.

Quick show of hands.... how many people on TBN have lost their job or income due to this virus?

I'm still working on-site, but will be ramping down as work slows due to lack of customers. Been told I'll still get paid, but don't know how long that will last, so it's in the back of my mind.

My wife and 1 kid are working from home, both still employed.

Other kid graduates from college in a few weeks. Will be looking for work. That will be tough.

Personally, I know of 1 person that's been laid off until work can resume, my next door neighbor, who's a carpenter in Michigan. His boss had to send him home since they aren't allowed to build new houses right now. He's getting unemployment for now.

MD has over 14k cases, 3k hospitalizations and the hospitals are not packed. If the CDC would have pushed the use of face masks early, instead of saying they weren’t needed, the numbers would have been significantly lower.

I haven’t personally lost income or work but know the girls at the restaurant i used to frequent are all unemployed. That’s the population that is struggling. The lower income to middle income families are in stress.

dont wear mask. wont wear mask. sorry, not falling for this apocalyptic plague. as many people, if not more, die every year from flu. more people die than this from cancer (smoking, etc). i have managed to avoid the flu for over 10 years by staying away from sick people. doing the same thing now. im healthy so not too concerned. i do not get flu shots.,..never have. dont get flu.

more than likely not get vaccine for this Chinese manufactured virus either. Retired so dont go to town much anyways. wife is kind of a prepper, so were not light on anything. i guess i cant chide her for prepping anymore.
