How is your local weather this year compared to "normal" conditions

I'm the reason for the lack of snow in my area, this summer I built a snow pusher blade for the tractor and bought a snowmobile ($400). Best money spent in my opinion lol. We had 2 snow falls of a few inches followed by warm weather and rain which melted it off. We had about 4 inches for the week of Christmas which works for me. The heating bills are much easier to take.
Yep no snow here since I bought chains for my tractor  Actually we did have one decent dump but I was away on business and missed it, dang it!

Southwest Washington was warmer last winter. Still lots of rain.....we got 94 inches last year which is about normal. Ocean waters were warmer......resulted in a terrible clamming year. This year is expected to be similar. Cold here right now by our standards.......highs in the low 30's.....lows in the low 20's. A few days of very light snow....doesn't stay long. Expected to be in 40's next week and rain.......that's normal.

-3 at midnight, -2 at 2am, 17 during the day. I have to keep reminding myself that these conditions were the normal, expected ones some 30 odd years ago before GW really got rolling. Used to expect -20 for about 2 weeks every years in Dec or Jan. Haven't seen that in some 20 years. Deep snow and drifting Dec, Jan, Feb. Saw that in 2008 Dec but by Jan it was over.

Yesterday on the woodpile at 17 degrees, no wind. Quite comfortable but I quit due to soaked gloves and cold fingeers:

Well here in Upstate New York, small town (Galway) this winter seemed as normal as the last few we had, not much snow or really cold for long stretches. The last two days in was 50 degrees and we had a spring like soak er of rain . Today bright windy and temp around 30 degrees. We had a few 2" to 4" to 5" snows, and one Tractor plow able 6" to 8" storm. Weather has differently changed the last 10 years or so, at least up here in up-state New York.I have lived here since my house was built about 44 years ago, and I can say early years here during the winter were a challenge, cold weather for long periods of time (25-+) for days and super heavy snow falls around 20" + was the normal here. Last year I added a front HLA2000,84" plow to my arsenal of a LP3585 back blade and a LA2674 three point snow blower as I'm the type of person who needs to be ready for any and all and I just hate to ask for help. So far I have used the front plow once this year although I could have do the driveway with the BB or a 30" walk behind. The three point snow blower hasn't been used for a few years now,( I think 2011 or 2012. I'm not complaining mind you but with all the different options that I have to remove snow there just isn't much, actually I can see the green of my lawn after the rain washed off most of the little snow we had. I truly believe the weather is change faster now then when I was a boy, don't think man made global warming has anything to do with it, it's just the way mother earth is doing her thing.

yup, we've had periods of extreme cold, extreme rain, extreme heat, extreme snow, etc on and off since the 'bearth of the earth". Ever read about the 'little ice age" ? Ever hear of the 'dust bowl" ? Periodically it changes, it always has, it always will. Periodically species go away because of it, always has, always will.

The sun gets hotter, the sun gets colder, and lots of other things happen to influence our weather. Buying carbon credits won't help and taping cows asses shut to prevent too much methane release won't help either.

Mother Earth will give us what it wants to give us.

Get used to it and what ever happens.

Yeah... that's what the dinosaurs said. Just kidding... I'm sick of people looking at data going back only a hundred years and trying to pin climate change all on humans.
I guess the dinosaurs should have been smart like us and done something about the ice age.

Yup, dinosaurs "ruled" the earth once, and thet went away. We "rule" it now and we'll go away too..... And we can't do a thing about it.

We are fixing to get our own "Ice Age" this weekend.

Weird seeing 'ice' forecast. I looked at your map and was thinking, so what... then I realized we are talking ice not snow accumulation. That's is unheard of here. Stay safe! I'd better be checkin on my buddy in Wichita... he is a Seattle boy raising a family of all women, a few horses, and assorted other critters there.
