How long did your original battery last??

Probably because none of us has ever looked! Whatever the factory chose is what’s still working in mine. I doubt Kioti uses hi tech batteries. My guess is a Korean made commodity lead acid group 24.

I thought maybe the batteries were dealer installed.
My original battery said " New Castle battery" on it. Whatever it was, it lasted 11 years.

Mine had a New Castle battery also. The dealer advised that was what he uses so I don't believe the factory supplies the battery. I had 8 years on the original.

As I can remember - the OEM battery on my 1982 Ford didn't say much on it. My 2009 OEM Kubota battery has no identifying brand name on it either.

As far as Kioti I thought my dealer said they don't come with batteries and the dealer is to install one. My dealer uses interstate

My CK35 came with an Interstate battery in it and still starts with a flick of the key five years later.

My Interstate battery only lasted 3 years. I went with Walmart batteries after that and they've lasted many times longer. It's at least 6 years but I'd have to go check the date to be sure it wasn't longer. Walmart batteries have worked well for me.

Expanding on my earlier post #15:

I bought my 2006 DK45s in 2009 and it had a CarQuest NGT Extreme battery that I'm still using. The date code wasn't punched so I don't know when it was sold. It is an AGM battey. I need to charge it occasionally (especially after dormant periods) and I'm sure it has lost capacity, but it's still works OK.

By the way, citing only the brand doesn't say much. Almost all battery makers have a range of batteries from economy to premium often with different design (e.g. flooded, Gel, or AGM).

Both my Kioti DK-35 and DK-40, AND my 2016 Mechron came from same dealer; ALL are Interstate, and the 2010 DK-40 has lasted since 2010 to date. Sold the DK-35, so can't say.

I had to change the battery on my CK which is only 4 years old. I am partly the blame for that. Machine was sitting for months without starting it. I had to put the battery charger on it twice during the summer. When winter arrived it would not start so put in a new Legend 850 cold cranking amps and now have no problem and I will start it every couple of days.

I once got 15 years out of an OEM Motorcraft on my F250. Unheated garage kept in our moderate climate. I can not recall getting less than 7 years, that one was a Delco.

A conventional "flooded" battery (the kind with liquid inside) will be damaged quickly by deep discharge or chronic undercharge. Flooded batteries also "self discharge" at a relatively high rate (vs gel or AGM). All this means we are killing our flooded batteries if they are allowed to stand unused for weeks or months. The cheap fix is a good maintenance charger for dormant periods. The expensive fix is a premium AGM battery. With frequent use (getting charged) or maintenance charge, flooded batteries are as good as the expensive AGM or gel. Otherwise ...
