How many have concealed carry permit to carry a gun ?

As the question did not stipulate that only pro firearm carrying members can respond, I will risk the ire of fellow forum members. (I was berated for offering a comment in another forum)

Although the topic doesn't stipulate "pro-firearm carrying", we are looking for response from people who do. Or people who could, if they wanted to...but don't for their personal preference.
You don't have an option to carry...it's illegal in Australia (which I reckon most of us knew before you posted).
This post isn't intended to berate you, but is a clarification for others who post a response.
Otherwise, this thread will turn into the typical pro-rights/anti-rights tirade.

I know there are people that think absolutely all guns should be just gone, but I think the majority would be happy to be able to know what gun went where.
I think the majority are okay with law bidding citizens owning or carrying.
What I think the majority doesn't understand is why the carry people think that right should extend to any and everywhere.

I had a concealed weapons permit years ago but it has expired. I've found that in this area of the country there is no need to carry, at least not concealed. If I do carry it will be one of my shot guns or a rifle. Pretty hard to conceal one of those.

I got my first permit when I was a resident of Virginia in 97', it has since expired. I've had a Maine permit since 1999. Although I am not a certified firearm instructor, sometimes I help out at the local gun club and supervise students on the firing line who are in class to get their permits.

Because bad things can happen anywhere, at any time.
These horrendous mass shootings, with the exception of the theater in Colorado, have happened in areas (schools) where carry is restricted. And those mass murderers know that their victims will be vulnerable.
Make no mistake, most persons who carry a firearm are going to evade shooting, if at all possible...but that's not always possible.

People who want to do evil things, will do evil things. We cannot prevent that....we cannot even limit the tools they want to use to commit evil.
All we can do is to try to protect ourselves from that evil. That might mean shooting back...
