You are the optimist eh? I was at most of the rallies and hearings with MSI and the NRA last year and saw first hand how the system works, I doubt you'll ever see MD "loosen up" on this issue.
How many have concealed carry permit to carry a gun ?

Both my wife and myself have our LTCC. I never thought I would want to own a firearm of any kind a few years ago. But with the rapid decline of society today, I changed my mind. I hope I never need to use it anywhere but the range. Someone once told me guns are like parachutes, if you need one and don't have one, you probably won't ever need one again.

Yep, both wife and I have permits for Oregon and Utah.

- NH TL-100A with Bush Hog 5045 FEL, WR Long 3rd function, LS XR4155HC w/FEL, WR Long 3rd Function.
Texas recently changed our CHL law that allows those of of that have had our CHL since inception, to renew online, without going thru another class and demonstrating proficiency. They still do an updated background check with Texas DPS and FBI.

I have had mine ror a year now. Carry most places I go. Have not been able to talk the wife into taking the class for hers.

in ND, two classes of permits. one is obtained with a fee and open-book test/4-hr course. reciprocity is more limited. other includes the first set, plus a shooting course (if you can hit the broad side of a barn, you're good to go). reciprocity is wider, only a few states where it isn't accepted (and they don't accept any). got mine when I hung up the sam browne belt/badge, cuz I had a better idea than many about how frequently people walk among us with bad intent.
I carry IWB, strong side, with either my .45 SW (my 'fall-to-spring' choice where clothing is bulkier/layered) or my Ruger LC9, which could also just be in a pocket.
I hope to never need to use it, but I'm prepared and able should I choose to. Many here are alarmed with the influx of thousands pursuing big money in big oil. I was alarmed long before then, but the landscape has certainly gotten more interesting. Permit holders are growing exponentially - I just hope everyone is able to discern when and how to use, and I hope the low-life's pick on the wrong person when they do what they do - victimize and terrorize their most available target(s).

I probably should get a permit for both myself and my wife; if only to make automotive transport easier.
NH doesn't allow you to carry a loaded gun in the car unless you have a concealed carry permit. Opening the case takes long enough, I don't need to add loading the revolver time to it before being able to use it.
Oh, and that Freedom of Speech Permit hits too doggone close to home. I'd made a comment that someone ought to haul some prosecutor in Arizona out and shoot him over the Fast and Furious case who'd blocked police from arresting a known gun runner who they had the goods on. Not that I said I was going to do it, not that I was ordering someone to do it, and not that I was advertising to hire someone to do it. Never mind that you can find that phrase well over a million times a day on the internet. Well, someone in Arizona called the U.S. Marshall's office in NH who then invited me in for an "interview". A rather chilling means of suppressing so-called protected speech.

I got mine as a convenience, since the sidearm I carry in the woods is not always visible. I have a S&W 642 that I can load with +P, but my country gun is a 686 loaded with .357 158gr jhp.
