I love that old JD990. I wanted to buy one of those years ago when they were new but never did.Only two
I own and operate 3 M series Kubota's Only reason I have 3 is I don't like switching implements and all my implements (hay tools) have complex hook up's with multiple hydraulic connections and in the case of the bailers and mowers, computer interfaces where the control consoles are inside the tractors and not easily removeable. Much easier for me to have dedicated units dedicated to a single implement and at 73, I don't much care for hooking up and unhooking heavy implements anyway. From what I see, the majority of tractor owners here and everywhere else have only one tractor.
I mean more than one that runs, you maintain, and use regularly... (Don't count the old broke down one behind the barn with 2 flats.)
Surprisingly, after replacing my 2 previous tractors with newer, more improved ones, I find I have have about the same hours on both new ones.
I'd hate to have to choose between them, if I had to pick only one. I really have a use for both.
How many of you are multiple machine owners? Could you get by with just one? Which one would you pick if you had to?
