How many hours you put on your compact each year?

I bought my 670 with 610 hours showing on the meter. I bought the machine 2 years ago (2002) and it is a 1991 model.
So, the previous owner put about 55 hours a year on it.
Now, the meter has 700 hours (added 90 hours in two years) which is 45 hours per year since I bought it.

Since the meter is only accurate for PTO speed, and I normally run mine at below 2000 RPM, I'd estimate another 20-25 hours.

So, looks like usage has been pretty constant at 55-60 hours per year.

Bill you could just leave it running and then you would get credit. I often load my bucket by hand but it goes so fast that to shut my tractor off only to restart it in 37 seconds or less would not be as efficient. I drop it to an idle and with the L3830 I have it's so quiet you can still carry on a conversation with a friend, the tree's or with yourself. The amount of time I spend loading, hooking up implements, chains etc., is a much smaller amount of time for me then it is for you. Maybe 5 minutes out of every hour. Henro, I like your thinking and plan to use your Highly scientific formula to my advantage. The only variable that you seemed to have neglected is the PC time spent at TBN and the zillions (Highly scientific term) of sites I have bookmarked. I haven't actually installed an hour meter on the computer but according to my wife I spend all @#$% day "Researching" Add that over five years and I expect I have a couple Bajillion (More than a zillion) hours of seat time already. My cost per hour for this tractor should be measured in nickels and dimes.

I really never thought about how many hours I expected to use the tractor a year. I managed to convince my wife that we NEEDED it. We both have back problems. She's presently on long term diability with hers. Most of the heavy work is done on our place now but we still use it every day, seven days a week, to clean up the horse exhaust. Sometimes I leave it running, sometimes I shut it off if I have a large concentration of exhaust in one area. My wife is not one to hold back if she has an opinion about something but she has never, ever, complained about the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I see no reason for that matter not to add in the time you spend counting tractors, staring at brochures etc. I wore my brochure out. I must have put 40 hours on it alone.

I am averaging 300 hours per year. It would be more but towards the end of the month I can not afford to buy more fuel to keep it running.

Henro: i was thinking the same thing but could not state it as well as u did! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif another thing that might be helpful is trying to figure out the things u could NOT have done without the tractor OR the number of hours Spent doing things the hard way with out it, MAKE ANY SENSE? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I would say I am in the 150 hour per year range.

Now Poppa has me wondering if I spend more hours on TBN talking and reading about tractors than using mine. Can you add a hour meter to a computer?
