How many hours you put on your compact each year?

( ...just the convenience of having it around has immeasurable advantages... Heck, if it's just something you always wanted, that should be enough.)

The convenience is something I have heard others here and at home say is not a reason to buy the tractor. Some have said that you go out and rent the tractor you need when you need it. Well let me tell you. We don't get much snow here, supposedly the average is 60 inches a year but that can be spread out over ten or twenty events OR it can come nearly all at once. Last year when we got 30 inches I was thinking how convenient it would have been to have a tractor if for no other reason than to dig out my truck so that I could DRIVE to the rental yard.

As far as the second part goes. My wife has always wanted a convertible Mercedes so I try not to use that aspect of the arguement /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Had my JD 4300 for 2 years now and have 122 hours on it at this point. About 60 a year so far but as I acquire more implements that will increase I am sure.

Just made my 36th payment and am at 185 hrs - the past year the lowest of all .. for lots of reasons ... probably 20 hrs total since spring of last year. -

I put aprox 360 hours the first year while building the house. Most of the hours within a 6 month period. I'm guessing it will have around 200-250 this year.

Almost at a 1000 hrs.. looks like I'm in the 250/yr range. Busted my first hydrolic line on the bucket last Weds... and put my first big scrape on the hood. I was unloading bundles of railroad ties off an 18 wheeler flat bed.. the bundles weighed 3000 lbs a piece.. I was using the FEL to push the bundles off the flatbed.. line busted.. still had 3 bundles to go. Used a chain.. and yanked them off! Banged my elbow jumping off the flatbed.. it was just my turn to have one of those days!

Well, it looks like a quilt or maybe an areial view of an orchard with dead grass between the trees!! I don't ever remember being that close to a taillight unless I ran into it.

I'm at 9 months and I've got 141 on my NH, but I figure I'll be close to 200 by the time I hit a year as that will be 3 good months of mowing. I've mainly used mine for mowing and some loader work. Have also set my trusses on the garage with it and set the shingles up there as well. Getting ready to do the 150 hr. oil change. Figure I mow the grass this weekend and then change the oil.
