I guess you can call it " A Northern thing!". Nothing like fresh fallen virgin, crunchy, squeaky snow on a zero degree morning. Kind of grows on us....:)

Funny, I feel the same way. Though I'm thinking of moving further north just to get my fix! Watching the snow come and go by the week gets depressing. I wish it'd just stay here all season.
I now have about 60hrs on my tractor... the majority of which are from snowblowing. I love watching just how far that machine throws the stuff! :)

Why do Bx's have more hours than B's....I suspect that a major difference is mowing. A BX is more likely to be used for finish mowing than most B's. I know you can use a B for finish mowing but many of us don't.

So I decided to test my theory. Went through all the threads and looked at all the B's and Bx's. There were 16 of each mentioned here. 75% of the BX's had mid mount mowers listed in their attachments and mentioned mowing in the post. Only 38% of the B's had mid mount mowers. Finish mowing = more hours. That's my theory.

By the way, my B7500 has 270 hours since 2003. Add it into the stats above and the B's with finish mowers drop to 35%. :)

BX24 - born on 7/11/06 - only 120 hours (but here's the disclaimer - no seat time from 4/07 - 7/07 as we moved and it lived in a barn then and minimal from 9/07-11/07 as well)...
Expect to have that number doubled by 7/11/08 given the amount of things on the plate and the expanse of land.
Use it for mowing, FEL work, BH, plowing, disking, bush hogging, skidding logs, snow throwing, general tractoring.
Have had lots of conversations about a bigger tractor - with the 35 acres, we could use it in the driveway clearing and the field maintenance... but this little tank just keeps going... so for now - "big jobs - little tractor" - that's the motto.

About 1400, about 1300 when I bought it in July 2005. I mow with a FM, BH, BH trails for hunting and ATV's in the woods. Have a disk for some garden work, BB, Scoop.

It's a 1999 model L2500 2wd.

B3030 with 0.4 hours. It's being delivered at 4:00 tomorrow :)

It will be used mostly for finish mowing, snowblowing, and tilling (pasture/farmland renovation, and the vegetable garden).

Love this question,

I stopped at a used dealer the other day to look at a F2400 that had a nice cab I would have liked for mine. I looked at the hour clock...9,300 hours!!! I asked the guy if that was for real. He said yep, a business had it for snowblowing in the winter and grass cutting in the summer, but sorry it's sold. The 1,200 hours on mine made me feel like it had just been broken in.

I recently acquired a 1980 B7100 (gear drive) with a B-219 loader on it. It had 2000 hrs on it, and have put another 15 on top of that in the last few weeks. It starts and runs great. The only leak is a little from the left bucket curl cylinder. I have a seal kit for it, but will probably wait until I'm done with the current round of projects before tearing it down -- any advice?

I also recently acquired a G1800-S (4 wheel steer) with unknown hours, as the hour meter died at only 53 hrs. I'm going to install an aftermarket hour meter that I got for $15 (way less than replacing the whole instrument cluster with its integrated hour meter) so that I can track hours for maintenance. I've seen G1800's and G1900's for sale with anything from 300 to 2000 hours on them. They're a great little L&G tractor (the 4 wheel steer models are nearly as maneuverable as a ZTR, but way more versatile). They have either a D662 (G1800) or D722 (G1900) 3-cyl diesel in them. It is amazing how quiet this tractor is compared to my Simplicity ZTR with a 20 HP V-twin Briggs on it. It is also much quieter than the D750 on the B7100 (which is the same HP). The hood on it definitely mutes the diesel "rattle", as you can hardly tell it is a diesel (too bad -- that's have the fun :) ).

Mid 80's B1550 HST. About 3500 hours of loader and tough backhoe work, mostly clocked up by the previous owner, a professional plumber. Every hydraulic component could probably do with an overhaul (which it might get one day) but the engine still runs like a charm.
