I know haha that's what I keep telling her its her car is what she tells me oh well you know how women can be. I just hate seeing it out of the camper shed that always adds a few miles and depreciates it even further. The short stretch from the 20's to 30's killed me like you cant believe it went from 1 of a kind to just a low miles garage queen. :laughing:

1992 Volvo wagon close to 500,000 km (310,000 miles). Engine uses no oil, but there's always something that needs fixing. Sometimes I wish it was designed like Fords, Chevs and Dodges to totally rust out and become junk.
Speaking of fairly high mileage cars... I remember a few I had a 90 4Runner with 360k it still ran great when I sold it. I have a 91 4Runner sitting outside for sale right now its only got 250k. I personally drove an 86 4cyl 4wd 4Runner that had over 400k and ran and drove great when I sold it. I take care of a small fleet of Toyota trucks in my day to day business all over 250k, one 92 4cyl 4wd pu is probably or will be over 400k on this oil change doesn't have a single rattle or squeak yet. Had a bunch of Honda's run just about forever also, all any of them need is routine scheduled maintenance. :thumbsup:

I'm old enough to remember when we were supposed to change oil every thousand miles, and if you didn't have to add a quart (or more) between changes, you sure had a fine automobile.:laughing: And now I go 5,000 miles between oil changes and have never added oil between changes. Of course, I also remember when the police department replaced all the vehicles with over 60,000 miles on them, and they were pretty much junk by then. Of course, regardless of the number of miles, the engines had been running almost 24/7 for six and two-thirds days a week (each car went into the garage for an oil change and wash job one shift a week).
We sometimes complain about things not being as good as they used to be, but the fact is that most things are not as good as they used to be; they're better!

I agree they are better, but it truely makes me mad to look up a problem to trouble shoot it, only to see problems with the Dodge Dakota brakes locking up on the 1988-2004 models (not a typo) or 2002-2008 chevy transfer cases. Why would a manufacturer choose to use a crap component for 5+ years (let alone 18 years). The chevy transfer case (pump rub, can google it) is caused by a $0.30 part, that could be completly fixed with a $19.00 part, but by the time you realize it, you have probably destroyed a $1200 transfer case.
I don't really want new fancy truck, I just want them to fix there problem areas. I don't want/need dvd, back up camera, or heated/cooled seats, I just want it to run with a minium of defective parts/designs.
