As the title says, my tractors batteries are being stolen 3 times. Any way to prevent it?

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

WOW. Thinking about your problem (and not knowing how your tractor is being stored) one way, as a deterrent, would be to 'padlock' the grill guard. I don't know how but it would/may make it difficult to access the bonnet (hood) latch.

Enjoy the site from wherever in the world you are.

Welcome to the Forum! (y)

Apparently, you don't leave your tractor in a safe place. Perhaps take the battery with you when you leave.

We burry thieves and robbers around here. ;)

Add a quick disconnect for the battery, and take it with you.

I agree with Tinhack's statement - "We bury thieves and robbers around here". And Cat_drivers suggestion to use a Batteryshackle.

Actually - around these parts.......leave the dead bodies exposed for the coyotes to scavenge. Y'all know - it's all about being "Eco-friendly".

As others have said, a determined thief will not stop. Take the battery with you when you leave.

given multiple thefts, my larger concern would be for your tractor at large, or even destructive mischief from a frustrated thief. i'd be looking at alternatives for your vulnerable tractor location. also keep a game cam trained on the area
best of luck, & welcome to the forum

Park your tractor in a safer place.

IE. Time to move elsewhere!

No way to live, IMHO. I will not live in a place everything has to be locked up , if I need to behind bars let it be my doing not the fear of what others might do.

My parents live behind barred windows and a high fence in a ritzy neighborhood. No way to live........

Even tweakers understand big dogs and shotguns....

When we bought our remote property back in 1989, no one lived there. No one to watch over anything. We parked our IH2500b out there for about 10 years, and on the recommendation of our farmer friends, and from their experiences of leaving equipment unattended on their farms, we took the battery and the rotor from under the distributor out every time we left.

We got a call from the county police one evening that the neighbor saw the lights on the tractor were on. They went out and the tractor lights were on and no one was around. I told them that was impossible because I had the battery. They said, yeah, well, must be aliens then, because the lights are on. They left. I went out, and the lights were off and there was no battery.

Best I can figure is someone put a battery in it, couldn't start it because of the missing rotor, the cops showed up so they hid in the woods. Cops left, they came back and took their battery, I showed up, and well..... or it was aliens.

Anyhow, Bad people have cars and you can't be everywhere all the time, especially a remote property.
