Having dug much further than 2" before I am fairly certain that the sandy soil that is on the top and what is at 2" is virtually the same.

Thanks again for all the input everyone. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to rent a sprayer? I wouldn't really have any other need for one than for this application, so I hate to buy one. Also, it sounds like a spot sprayer is what is used most often, but would it be better to use a sprayer with booms on each side?

We have a local Hardware/Farm Supply that we rent from. Many areas have Farm Bureau or other Coops that rent these rigs out at cost. Ken Sweet

I also rent the no-till seed drill from the local conservation district. Of course, you have to have a large enough tractor (with remote) to use it. Up til now I've borrowed a neighbors tractor; this year I'll be using my M6040.
