I don't know how relevant it is for you, but with some species of log here I have to spray them with an insecticide to stop borers getting in. Once they dry they are fine, just that initial period from when they are cut and there is plenty of moisture in the wood.

Get them off the ground, Also with the bark on (as said)They will rot fast.If your saving them for fire wood you must split them, If your going to saw them for lumber cover them with old tin roofing. I use this it works great.
