Hydraulic bracket bolts

I have to move my power-beyond couplers to a different location as I am going to use them to run remotes for my snowblower, and they will interfere with the 3pt hitch. I tried to remove the hoses to move on with cutting the bracket off, and the f'n things are held on with SAE bolts. Krike'!! Why are there SEA bolts on a Kubota?? I don't even know if I own any SAE tools! I drive a Japanese truck, ride Japanese motorcycles, and work a Japanese tractor. Who uses non-metric fasteners...and why would ya?!! Why anybody still use those danged antiquated things is beyond me.

So now I have to dig through my rollaway and see if I have any SAE sockets kicking around. Worse yet, they are same-sized nut/bolt pairs, so I have to find TWO sockets of each nut size.

Ah, so the bolt heads are not tack welded to the frame?


Are you referring to the standard 6 point american or metric socket issue which are SAE anyway or the SAE metric or American 12 point sockets for the 12 spline bolt heads?

All you need are thin wall 6 point or 12 point deep wells and 6 or 12 point box end wrenches that are not metric.:thumbsup:



Footnote: its not my fault that we did not switch to the metric system when we had the opportunity to do so 35 years ago. :laughing:


Its no different than simply replacing and designing everything around (socket head cap screws)-Allen head bolts for every thing and only needing a few wrenches for ablsolutely everything, GASP!!!!!!

it makes too much sense to do that and sell more equipment and have fewer issues.

Hey JayC ... you will find that all the hardware that holds the FEL and associated hydraulics are going to be SAE... The external hydraulics and hardware are all American not Japanese ... From big bolts right down to small hex wrenches... Besides you will always need SAE ... you are just now coming across why... KennyV
