Hydraulic Snowblower with PTO Increaser?

What is your PTO HP?
Which front blower do you have?

Thanks! Holy Cow HP24!
50 hp PTO and an 84” blower. 50hp isn’t enough for anything more than a couple of inches. The rest of the time my tractor is running flat out and I’m regulating speed to keep rpms from dropping too far. Typical speed is between 1 and 2 mph.

Are your results with the PTO increaser?

I have the 80” blower, but we have dry snow. I just blew thru an 18” pile that shed off of my barn roof, so it was compacted. Blew right thru it no issues, and i only have 45 hp. It shot at least 50’.

Heres some pics, but hard to take pics while blowing. Also, i made 1 pass thru the 18+ inches of snow.

Mine has the 15 GPM , 3500 psi pump. Its designed for up to 50 hp. I wonder if using the larger pump on a 50 hp is causing an issue trying to throw snow.

I run my driveway with say 6-8” snowfall, if fairly dry, with hydrostatic tranny in 2nd gear, and i put right along. Only time i go slow is on building sheds, as its real compacted.

When my barn sheds, this is what im left with.
I have to clear it so horses can get out of barn. When its this deep, i have to blow it in levels, but doesnt take very long as i can raise the blower.

I've got a hydraulically powered 15' mower. Yellow part is the speed increaser. In my case, it multiplies the 540 by 4. I also have a 1,000 pto and, they make a 1,000 pto version of same thing.

Cast steel so it's "heavy as lead".

I've wondered about getting a PTO powered generator and if I did, could I use this to get the input speed needed but maybe at a lower tractor RPM (or would I be better off using 1,000 pto)

Pain to put on/take off so I don't. Tractor is essentially a dedicated lawn mower and I leave it on all year unless I have a reason to fight it off. Even then, I leave the increaser and just take the pump off.

This specific unit blew a gear on me maybe 2-years ago. If I recall, the replacement unit was around $3,500.

It works well but just want to be able to remove a 72” QA bucket and quickly attach a blower. 45 hp, 42 hp net, 35 hp PTO.

Why i love my setup, i can swap between blower, plow or bucket for various winter chores. Even put forks on if i need to move snow fall tree damage. And being able to raise blower up to whatever height needed to move shed snow is also a blessing.

And NO SHEAR PINS. It uses hydraulic bypass.
