Hydraulic Snowblower with PTO Increaser?

A friend years ago had a snow removal business and ran 2 Belarus 80+ hp tractors, a PTO speed increaser, hydraulic pump, tank and hydraulic snowblowers. First time he used it commercially it took a buried 2” branch chewed it up and spit it out the chute and it hit a 2nd story window and broke it.
Has anyone seen the engineering for adding an increaser to a 35 HP PTO to run a higher gpm hydraulic snowblower?

Never heard of a pto increaser. I have a 45 hp with hyd front snowblower and rear hydraulic powerpack. Works just fine and has for 12 seasons

I believe most of the PTO mounted pumps have a speed increaser built into them today. This converts the 540 RPM to some higher rpm so can use a smaller displacement pump.

I think Comer also makes a PTO increaser gear box.

Yes, ther’e available and increase PTO speed from 540 to 1000 rpm and possibly have higher ones.
I asked Erskine about them and will see what they say?
My mechanical front blower throws really far compared to the hydraulic blower videos I watched. But it’s limited in deep snow. 225” and counting! Thanks!

Here is a PTO speed increaser with the pump mounted to it. This one mounts the implement and you need a PTO shaft.

Alternatively, there is this style where it goes over the tractor PTO shaft:

The advantage of using a speed increaser with separate pump, instead of a big ol'pump directly on the shaft, is that this way, you can mount whatever pump displacement that fits the application the best.

I have an Erskine front snow blower with a PTO hydraulic power pack, specifically their HP-24. The "pump" is actually two separate parts bolted together. One part is a hydraulic pump, and the other part is a step-up gearbox. Here is a link to the one on mine, and I expect there are others. I don't know off had what the ratio is.

I use it now in reverse (slow down) to run my pto genny off an F1435's 2000 rpm mower pto.

I dont recall if my rear pump has speed increaser or not. One thing for sure, its big and heavy. Takes another set of hands to mount it. Mine throws alot of snow a long ways.
