Hydraulic top link questions

Derek, my HTL is 21 inches retracted and my stock TL is also 19-1/2 like yours. In my opinion, the HTL is much better if it is shorter than the original TL. I cannot get my boxblade to come completely level or tilt slightly forward because my toplink is just a bit too long. When fully extended with a boxblade, the bottom of the blade rotates so far forward that it will actually rub on the tractor's rear tires. I don't need that much extension. If I were you, I'd certainly go with the shorter toplink. After all, how many implements do you have that require your standard TL to be extended all the way? I think the HTL from CCM looks pretty good. If I had it to do all over again, I'd give them a call.

Gordon, I believe that double pilot check valve is actually a relief valve that works in both retract and extend directions when the cylinder reaches the end of its travel. If you tractor has enough hydraulic pressure to exceed the rating of the cylinder, it could be damaged. The double pilot check valve would relieve the pressure from the pressurized to the return side at some pressure below the cylinder's rated maximum.

Jim, I had the same problem, but was able to get my HTL shortened on both ends to correct the problem.

Rowski, did Green supply you with the eye width info for their cylinder?

On the Tisco cylinder the eye width at the implement end is 1 3/4". Its only 1 1/2" wide @ the tractor end.
According to the Bailey specs their link ends are a full 2" wide.

The Agri-Supply catalog lists a width of 1 7/8" for a Cat 2 replacement ball.

Gordon, CCI described the valve. here

I use my HTL for everything. I haven't experienced any movement with mine.

I don't know what the the overall width of that HTL is with all the additional plumbing. On my tractor there is a flat steel plate mounted over the top of the rear pto. When I use my tiller the clearance becomes less than 3 " between the Tisco HTL and the guard plate when the tiller buries itself in.

Rowski,
I might just take you up on that. We'll be up sometime this year. We hadn't really looked in Montgomery, Mostly Jay, but the prices there are high because of the ski slope. Now I hear they want to put in a golf course in Jay. Retirement heaven for some folks but I'm not a golfer, and don't want to pay the inflated prices they're asking.
Thanks,
DaveL

No. I didn't ask either. I just figured that being cat II that is would be 2" wide. I would grind it down or have it milled down. On the implement end (mine anyway) just use cat II pin in the cat II holes on my implements.

I was getting the same confusion in the widths. I found a site (not sure of the name, its bookmarked at my home computer)that sells replacement ends for manual top links and the cat II are 2" wide. Seems confusing but I think they all will work just some may need to be made smaller. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Maybe I should trade the NH2120 for new JD TLB110 with the factory top and tilt installed /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Much easier /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You may have posted this before. But I can't find it again.

What is the bore and rod diameter of you HTL. Both for the smaller 6" stroke and the larger 10'' stroke.

This is a stupid question, but I'm buying unseen. Are the HTL that you sell rugged enough for a large class compact/Small ag tractor like mine /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif?

Both the Cat 1 hyd. toplinks are 50mm (2")bore and 30mm (1.25") Ramrod
