Hydraulic Valve Options

How much $$ do you figure you have into the system? I am considering this as a future option and trying to figure out if I should slowly acquire parts (easier to hide the cost) or get it all at once.

Thanks for the hard work that will make it easy for me!!

Well, let's see, I have not added it up yet so we'll learn together. The Prince LVR listed for over 300 but Princedirect.com guys had one for 165. Then to my surprise, I spent 290 on fittings, custom made hoses, adaptors and couplers. Finally, 72 cents for the power beyond activating plug. Looks like $455.72. Now, there are a couple of options you may not want. I "T"d into one of the two spools and have couplers both in the back and in the front for that spool. The other spool has the couplers there on rear only. The ones in the front are routed to the lower right where the existing stock loader couplers are, and I put couplers there. Then, 10 foot hoses with more couplers are routed all the way to the loader cross-member (heavy pipe near bucket, joins the two loader arms). There is a custom-made bracket there to clamp to the loader cross member and allow the two couplers to mount. Then, 3 foot hoses connect to a cylinder on my hydraulic grapple. Finally, as part of the prices listed above, I got hoses, fittings, and couplers for the top link cylinder. No cylinders were part of these costs, but all the other parts to do the above were what added up to 455. I built the mounting bracket for the LVR valve, and had to buy some longer bolts (oops, add another $4) to put the valve mounting bracket down on top of the ROPS bracket, and run longer bolts through it all.
It is surprising how fast the fittings add up in cost. But I had a lot of stuff so it is worth it. The custom-made hoses allow you to do a real clean job. I have seen some photos of the johndeere solution for the 4th and 5th SCV on a 4400, somewhere on the TBN, and I guess I prefer my own solution, much more compact and no hoses routing and drooping all over the 3-point area and pto area.

Jim,

Fantastic job. Its good to see your finished project. An excellent choice with your valve selection, using a joystick/loader type valve instead of the sectionals. Great outlet positioning too. I really like the additional front outlets you've added. Quick couplers are costly but worth it.

Jim, does the Prince valve have its own pressure relief or do you use the tractor's?

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Once again, well done. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for the encouragement. Could not have done it without your help DFB. Yup the Prince LVR has an adjustable relief valve, factory set at 2000psi. It also has something called Regen. It is on one of the two spools. I cant explain how it works, but the net effect is a super-fast bucket drop. I don't see how I need it, but its in there. It is in the far-extend position, kinda like float is on the other spool.

I'll add a link to this thread. <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=buykubota&Number=101191&Search=true&Forum=All_Forums&Words=regen&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=50&Old=allposts&Main=101191>regen</A>

It describes how the regen circuit operates on different loader valves

Great Job, I have a JD790 with a front loader. I keep thinking I should be able to buy a selector valve and use the existing loader joy stick.
My Idea is to unplug the curl lines from the loader. plum lines from the tractors quick connecttons to a selector valve. Then run one set of lines back to the loader lines and the other set of lines back the 3pt hitch cylinder.
Am I missing something it sounds to good to be true?
I have learned a lot from all of you please tell me if this is a hair brain idea.

That'll get the job done.

My Northern Tool & Equipment has 6 port selector valves also.

A Power Beyond port can also be installed on that tractor too, but of course that would include buying/installing another SCV. There have been posts about adding that option to the JD790.
