You mean out by Kansas & Nebraska? Maybe so, but what I saw last I was out that way were large multi-family dryland operations rather than corporate. I know the mountains and west better than the eastern plains.

That’s what I was referring to. Probably what you’re calling large multi family, I’m calling corporate. Because many of those operations are incorporated.

Ah....that's probably it. Just a difference in the way we use the "incorporated" word.

A sole proprietorship can be a legal corporation registered with the secretary or the state and has typical corporate requirements for bookkeeping - but it basically exists only to serves the needs of an individual or family business. For example, my friend is an author and her business happens to be a one person corporation that promots her books.

I was using "corporate farms" in a different sense. I meant corporate farming where large companies have investors whose intererest has nothing to do with day-to-day farming. Those companies can also be set up as corporations. They can then own a number of farms and have workers who are employees of the company.

Yeah, those are different things. But regardless, eastern Colorado has some huge feedlots and the grain/hay production to support them. You can drive for many miles across the eastern plains and see these operations.

The spot application systems that only apply fertilizer and pesticides where needed are really amazing technology and save a lot of chemical costs.

Yes sir,
and even in states that have a road every mile, few fields are perfectly square/rectangle so there is a lot of point rows where they save seed when planting.

And the auto-steer saves trips up/down the field when cultivating and disking.
