I hate the 3 Pt Hitch

I guess it's what one is used to. My only other tractor was a GT235, so I didn't have any rear hitch. Climb under and get the mower deck on or off, and same with the front blade. Fortunately I traded up before I got into tillers, etc.

To me, the 3pt hitch is pure genius.. but that just shows what I know. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Seriously though, I don't have much trouble with connecting.. certainly not what you describe. I'll back up, maybe one out of five times I'll have to back up again to get lined up. Lower the rear links all the way.. then I can lift them by hand to get the vertical correct. I tiny bit of tugging on the attachment, or maybe a crowbar, and one side is on. Then same on other side.. except that if you have to you can raise or lower the already-connected arm a bit to help out if you need to. Once the two bottom ones are on, you're home free.

I guess with more experience with other systems I might agree with you.. but I'm just thrilled at the number of implements I can use with no modifications to my tractor. It's probably good I don't know a better way to do it, or I'd be whining to the wife to spend more money again! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I've never had to use a pry bar of any type or a hammer to get anything on or off. And my stuff is parked on unlevel ground. I use blocks to level stuff up as much as I can when I take it off, so the next time I back up to it, it's pretty close. The only problem I every have is that the hitch pins on some of the implements get some surface rust on them from sitting outside, so I'll have to kick things on or off once in a while. The telescoping arms on my Boomer do help!

I sure like the 3pt hitch better than the way we did things on the farm where I grew up. We had (still have) a 1940 Farmall A and a 1950 John Deere B. Hooking some things up required bolting brackets on and such and it was hard for one man to do. The easiest thing to hook up was the pull behind bush hog, and that required a jack.
