Nothing has changed on this deal yet. I am waiting for my income tax check to come in now so I have enough cash to negotiate with them.

I will say this, as much as I like my 7710-II I would rather they sold it, cleared my loan and bill and be done with it. I will then buy a different tractor from another dealer. I will never buy another tractor or implement from my local NH dealer:(

I saw your post on the Farmtrac and wondered if you had worked out a deal and shopping to replace it.

Is the back still coming along?

I have been looking for a second 100 hp tractor with cab but with FWA to help with tillage. Right now I am looking for the 7710's replacement as I do not see things working out. There are plenty of options in the 100 hp range so I should find something to meet my needs. I have always been partial to Ford/NH but that was mainly because of my dealer. Since I no longer care to buy from that dealer I am free to explore every other brand. I know what NH offers and I have a couple other dealers about an hour away but I figure I would buy from Neil Messick when I buy my next New Holland.

My back is doing a lot better. I have been feeling a lot better since I was allowed to take off my turtle suit. I walk more and more every night and right now I am walking 25 minutes a night on the incline treadmill (about 1.5mph and just over .6 miles). I can easily walk longer but I do not want to over due things and hurt myself again. So I walk a little more every night and hopefully will be walking a couple miles per night by the end of this month.

Robert,

Glad to hear you are getting better. One step at a time my friend.

Are you as eager for spring to get here as I am?

Take care,

Will

Thanks, I think I am most likely more eager then you are. I have not been allowed to do anything since October 15th and have around 3 more months of not doing anything:(

I just need to be allowed to work by the end of May so I can start haying.

Good luck. I surely hope you get healed up, as well as get this entire tractor thing taken care of.

Just read this thread today, sorry to hear of your tractor/dealer troubles.

While I might attribute some of your problems to lack of communication or miscommunications, and even concede that they performed the necessary repairs, the thing that really bothered me in your story was their offer to take the tractor in settlement.

I had a friend who was in the TV repair business (when TV's used to be repaired!) who warned us about repair persons who attempt to "steal" your TV by quoting a high diaognostic charge, or doing the repair and then presenting a big bill.

So they would offer to take the appliance in settlement when in fact it was worth much more than their labor and parts invested, and even their fair profit. And here you're dealing with a large ticket item not just a TV set but it appears to me they are trying the same thing to take advantage of your situation.

If you can, hang tough on this and get what is fairly coming to you. You may have to pay a fair price for repairs actually performed but I wouldn't let them add insult to injury by bending you over on the "sale" of your tractor.

Good luck with this and your health recovery.

No change at all. I do not have $13k and since I can't pay the whole bill the dealer won't negotiate with me nor will they help me to finance the bill. Basically, I lost my tractor unless something happens differently:(

I know, I know we've all, well most of us, have discussed this. I have read and followed this thread and still don't get this dealer. I can't figure out why they would want to loose you as a long term customer. Especially if you were willing to finance the bill with them. Maybe I am missing some of the finer points but if it were I am I would surely let you finance it for a small APR. I keep you as a customer and cover the cost of lending you money until you pay me back. I hope something positive happens.
