I'll check them out for sure. I just readjusted the tongue height on the 14 K. To see if it would make a difference. And it did it rides more level now so I took it for a spin empty and it is just one heavy trailer lots of tongue weight. It almost feels as heavy empty as my 7K feels loaded.

I think that is just the nature of the beast! My 10K trailer is noticeable behind my 1/2 ton but not bad. When I hook up to the 14k I can't pull it in overdrive with the 1/2 ton. The trailer is 4600lbs empty so you can feel it. CJ

I did some measuring and my 16' 7 k has a 60/40 axel split ratio where the 20' 14k has more like 66/33 (2/3). It seems most trailers I have been looking at have been the 2/3 split. I'm not sure the thinking on this. That makes for a lot of tongue weight especially with heavy duty trailers.

Tongue weight is a good thing! Unless your tow vehicle is not set up for it. The 14k trailers are more set up for 3/4 to 1 tons. I always run as much tongue weight as I can and to date never had a control issue. CJ

I purchased a new trailer late this summer after researching and looking at them at various places. I looked at BigTex, PJ, and various other makes and finally decided on my Load Max (Load Trail). I really liked the way it was put together and the features it had for the money. It's a 24' (22' flat, 2' dovetail) 14K GN car hauler type with 83" between the fenders that are also removeable. That worked very well when I had to haul a couple pallets of concrete blocks, the forklift had no problem placing the pallets where they needed to be. Would be very good for hauling cars as you can open the doors without problems - the tires are only a couple inches above the bed of the trailer. You could also drive a wide piece of equip. right over the tires if need be too.

The trailer is fully powder coated, has a one piece wiring harness, all LED lights, double-hinged spring-assist ramps w/adjustable feet, twin jacks. I haven't hauled my tractor on it yet but that's the main reason I bought it and I'm sure it will be just dandy. I hauled my tractor around commercially for about 6 years on a 20' 14K bumper pull. This will be the first GN I've ever hauled it with.

That's a nice looking trailer. I have not purchased one yet. I'm still using a friends 20' 14k bumper pull and I'm not happy with it for my use. I saw a 20 ' 10 k with rails that I like. Nice balance and not overly heavy. The negatives are its 4 grand and ramps don't fold flat or remove easy. That would make it harder to load from the rear. I'm torn between folding ramps vrs self-storing ramps because I use trailer for many different things. Also I am fond of having rails like my utility trailer but may have to go with some removable sides and folding ramps.

If you use the trailer for more than just equipment than the fold flat or removable are the best. I really like my fold flats, getting to old to throw ramps around if I don't have to. Don't like the hassle anymore. CJ

Here is my 20' flat deck with my tractor on it. With the implements on the front of the trailer i have to keep the tractor pulled to the back. WIthout the stuff on the front the tractor moves forward about a foot. (but notice it would still basically be rideing over the axles of the trailer)

Either way it generates about 800lbs tongue weight which i handle with a WD hitch.

I like that 20 ' flat deck what is the axel rating. That looks like a 2/3-1/3 axel split. I'm thinking I would prefer more like 60/40 for less tongue weight. What do you think?
