I need some information on a Third Function Remote

I had my Kubota dealer install the 3rd function system. They used a WR Long valve - the entire setup - valve, hoses, new joy stick and installation time cost $1195. I use the third function with the grapple I just bought. Looking at the finished setup - I'm glad I had it done by experienced maintenance folks. I understand the basic idea behind the 3rd function but the plumbing, routing, electrical requirements would have been well beyond my skills.

Yes, that's what I did also. I had the 3rd function kit and the installation labor quoted in the tractor price when I recently purchased my L5460HSTC. My dealer installed the Kubota kit at the time they were installing the loader. I purchased my Land Pride grapple separately. The electro-hydraulic valve is operated by a toggle switch in the loader control knob. The hydraulic lines and hoses are inside the loader boom just like the other lines and hoses and looks like a factory installation. Nothing looks add-on or like a "plumber's nightmare". It works as designed.

I talked to the parts guy and it is solenoid operated.

Give them call.

Should look something like this.

Flash. Flash

Sorry about that.

I called to verify and they told me wrong.

The one valve I posted is a lever selector valve .

This is supposed to be the correct valve. SKU: #220934 at $110

I pulled the pic from another web site.

I was told by the dealer that I could not add one to my MX5100. So I have been looking for other suppliers, I found these guys.
3rd,Third Function Hydraulic Valve Kit: Kubota Tractors & Front End Loaders

Does anyone have any experience with them?

Do you want a 3rd function valve or a diverter selector valve?

The 3rd valve will only provide full force, and is installed in series with the flow. Could be installed anywhere you have space for it.

The selector valve will let you use the curl function or the FEL to control the grapple and the ability to feather the hyds.

I am looking to mount a Fisher snow plow on my loader and want to be able to angle it and run all the loader functions when needed.

Ahhh... so the third function valve is either all on or all off. correct? I'm planning a grapple addition so I guess the diverter valve will be the way to go.

Yes. that is correct, however you could add an adjustable needle valve and tailor the flow to your needs.

Your engine rpm will also dictate how much flow the hyd has. Half speed, half flow, and so on.

The diverter is less expensive.

Thanks JJ. It seems that both ways have their drawbacks. The diverter draws from one of the function ports of the loader valve, temporarily disabling it. The third function valve is either all on or all off but I would still have full use of the loader controls. I guess i'm leaning more toward the seperate valve. It seems that if I buy the package from EA, they offer a little off. I'm still doing the numbers and trying to pick out which grapple I really want.
