I need some information on a Third Function Remote

Thanks JJ. It seems that both ways have their drawbacks. The diverter draws from one of the function ports of the loader valve, temporarily disabling it. The third function valve is either all on or all off but I would still have full use of the loader controls. I guess i'm leaning more toward the seperate valve. It seems that if I buy the package from EA, they offer a little off. I'm still doing the numbers and trying to pick out which grapple I really want.

You will learn to tip toe around the 3rd function operation it will become natural to you nuttin to it... Dunno what Grapple you are looking at but I would get one with two hydraulic cylinders and two arms... I got a 60" Grapple and would not want one bigger it lets me get into some tight places..

I got a WR long 3rd function kit ($800 dealer installed) nuttin to installing it a boy scout can do it... If you Google 3rd function you can also find you can get the 3rd function valve and roll your own from hydraulic surplus center for about haft a WR long kit.... I have already had a hose leak the dealer warranty it :)

Thanks everyone. I'm going with the WR Long OBG2-48 grapple and the EA third function setup. Theirs has the hoses all the way to the loader. I need something small because of the layout of our property. We have too many trees that my 60" bucket will not go between. Also, the B3200 is not a big, powerful tractor and I think I'll get better use of a lighter package. I'll report in after I get the stuff installed and tested.

That's going to be a really nice setup for you. I don't think you will ever miss not having a wider grapple.

If you put a restricting orifice on each cylinder after it tees off it will keep the grapple sides synchronized and the back pressure created will also make the curl function work with reduced force if you are using a WR Long third function valve. You will be able curl and clamp and then you can release grapple control switch and roll back the grapple with load and lift with full force. It may sound complicated but works well instead of the diverter valve and having the proper restriction makes a slower clamp action instead of having to use the main joystick to feather. Forget where I saw it but someone had blank male female JIC fittings that you just drill out with what ever size you want.

Thanks David. I ordered the EA third function valve. They offer a discount when ordering a grapple and free shipping. It looks like it also has the hoses that go to the front of the loader so that I don't have to make those last two myself. I ordered the 48" grapple and it only has one claw. I know what you mean about making a restrictor. If I can't deal with it by RPM or maybe it'll be ok, I'll get an adapter fitting and build something to reduce the flow. Maybe a little washer in the adapter. I'll see how it goes with the setup first, then plan the attack.

John - that's the exact setup I have on my B3300 and I've been really impressed. From a couple days ago:

Here is a wood chunk from the other day, having dual clamps is nice.

I installed the hydralics in about an hour on Monday evening. I'll probably do the electrics this weekend. How does everyone position the knob? I know that however it's positioned, i'll still have to get used to it. Does anyone have a favorite? I don't want to be the guy wearing an earing in my right ear. :=)
