Looking at a ford 555 backhoe and was going to get the manual but not sure if it's a 78 or 88. Numbers I found behind starter are C3NN 7006 C then maybe 2 0 ? The date code I can see 8E 8 ? And is why I am assuming 78 or 88. I will check numbers better again later this week.
Ok got more numbers today the other numbers i think came off of transmission. These came off of engine below starter date 8E 9 then below that D5NN6015G these numbers are both on a there own tag attached to the lower part of the engine.

None of what you posted is a model number. Look for a stamped number on a flat part near the starter on the transmission. That would help out alot.

The D5 = 1975 for the part number.
Finally got to finding serial number stamp below starter. what does this tell me *D311802* and above that on a tag I also found D5NN6015 G and a date tag 8E 3 I think these must be engine numbers? Since my original post previous owner thought he remembered it as a 1982 is this correct with the stamp ending with 2. Thanks for any help.

8e3 is part of a date code. There should be o e more letter after it though, but that last letter would only indicate what shift it was assembled. 8 is the year, e is may, 3 is third day of the month.
D of the block casting code means 1970's as I already said. So 1978 based on the "D" of the block casting, and the "8" of the date code

Serial number on my 575E is stamped in the frame by right side of engine.
