Illegal to buy gas?

I have a great neighbor who I do favors for with my tractor. One day I drive up to my house and there are five brand new 5-gallon jugs of diesel sitting in my driveway. He just decided that he needed to buy me some fuel. Since he didn't know where my diesel cans were, he bought me all new ones and filled them. What a guy!:thumbsup:

me and my neighbor have been going back and forth like that this last year. I dug a stump out of his fence line and in the process broke an old, old shovel I have.. no biggie.. anyway.. week later, brand new high quality shovel showed up on my fenceline.. couple weeks ago I changed his blades on his jd rider, gift card showed up a week later.. we take turns mowing the ROW in front of each others house.

he has a very well manicured large 3 ac lawn.. my place.. well... code enforcemnt hasn't been out or anything.. but it don't look as good as my neighbor.. I figured he didn't consider me a good neighbor.. but lately, I guess I'm good enough now that he knows I have a chainsaw, backhoe, air tools and grease gun..

Does anyone else experience this? We have trucks, tractors, gators, etc. I like to keep the tanks full, the tractors are always fueled and ready ... EXCEPT my wife's 03' 1500 Ram, I swear she thinks its illegal for her to buy Gas!

Everytime we decide to use it, which is very seldom, its an 03' with 22K miles, its near EMPTY!! When I ask her why she fails to stop and put gas in she gives me that puppy dog look and simply replies ... "I forgot Honey" or "I was in a hurry to get back in to help you"

Its it law that its illegal for a woman to purchase Gas?

I did it once to her to prove a point - she actually ran out of gas - never heard the end of it. I ran out once within 50' of my driveway... can never figure out why they do that. Told her the "emergency" scenario - still hasn't caught on... go figure.

Well If you run the gas that low down here in the South, you can cause a Fuel pump failure..The theory being that the internal fuel pump is cooled by the gasoiline in the tank. Some of the manuals advise not to go below a fourth of a tank on a regular basis. Then there are a lot with the fuel pump elsewhere? It is just as easy to check it before the red light on the dash lights up?

yep, many times i have had to go raid the lawnmower gas just to GET to the gas station as my wife drives till the tank starts to cave in most of the time..

( my mom does the same thing.. drives my stepdad crazy.. she's ran out before too.. )

I think for sure that a gas gauge is a wasted expense on a car for some women.. they should probably have an opional mirror installed inthe dash in place of the gas gauge so they don't have to re-adjst the rear view mirror when trying to put on makeup while flying down the road maybee just have an idiot lamp that comes on at 15 miles so the husband knows it's time to add gas...

Soundguy, the Little Pumps symbal {red}comes on with about 2 gallons left? Same thing on my Ole MB diesel, about 2 gallons, but you wanted to be Sure it did not ever suck air from the tank..Mpib..

My Honda's all seem to have the low fuel light come on with about 3-gallons left in the tank. The F-250's light comes on with about 6-gallons remaining.

Yesterday, I am in my shop, she walks up there tells me she needs somthing at the store and throws out that good one .. "do you need anything honey?" Then she hops right up there in my one ton dually, an 04' with 72K miles and off she goes!!!

When my wife has to buy Gas she either uses a full service facility or stands there looking back and forth from the pump to the car until the attendant takes pity on her and pumps it tor her.
My wife is still in the hospital, we almost lost her. How did you do with that well? Sorry I could not help more.

I finally got the low fuel light to go on -the co-op won't have winter diesel in till after the weekend so am waiting for that. Just emptied half a jug of the summer diesel in-knowing that if I put the whole 20 liters in the temperature would be down to -25 within the next week...
