Illegal to buy gas?

wife and i had to run to south florida last night. I met her at work, just as she was walking out, we hopped in her truck, and I pulled out to get on the highway.. looked down.. 1/4 tank of fuel

I'm telling you ... its got to be against the law for a woman to put gas, fuel or anything in a vehicle other than shopping bags !!

Dunno I guess I am trained too when I am in town I drive my wife's car once a week, always have to fill it n check fluids when I do. Small price to pay for all the things she does for me

When we had kids at home we provided a vehicle for them to drive n the rule was never below a half tank or they lost the use for a couple of days.

How hard do you think it was for me to train my mother after dad died? She ran out once on the freeway, and could'nt understand why it takes 45 minuted in rush hour to get there when I was only 25 miles away? I have now got her filling her own gas(she's amazed at how often she needs to do it- she has a 2006 Dodge Caravan with 191,000 miles on it), AND CHECKING THE OIL ONCE A WEEK!!! Best part is I don't have to change the oil, Free oil and filter change for life when she bought it. Only took me 6 months. I house trained my lab-pitbull mix in 3 days, no joke. I must be a good teacher.

i'm afraid my wife simply doesn't have the nuerons that 'pump gas' built in to her genetic structure. if i don't put it in.. it don't get filled....

I had real good luck with my wife buying gas...She does not like to walk, and I told her burning the last quarter of the tank, might make the fuel pump overheat and go out? I have read of it happening on a lot of the newer cars. At a 1/4 tank she takes notice..

I told her to call her dad and tell him she needed a new positive cable clamp.. or at least a replacement bolt/nut for it. ( the next week she informed that yes.. her dad DID put a new nut/bolt in it after she asked her B/F to fix it, and her B/F said the penny would last just fine! )

My wife usually pays her own gas which is nice, but she usually wont fill it until after the light comes on. Drives me nuts but overall not a huge problem because she pumps and pays for her own.

The only problem I ran into with it was the time that her fuel pump ended up freezing...guess who was out there in 0 degree weather in the snow trying to climb under her little car to hit her fuel pump with a hammer...didnt work. Ended up calling AAA and getting it towed to a garage. By the time they had checked it out in the heated garage and tried to tell me the fuel pump needed to be replaced a some ridiculous cost, the fuel pump had warmed up and the car would start again. Got out of there just paying $20 for their "work" and went straight to a gas station to get gas and lots of dry gas. After all that though she still waits for the light...next time maybe I should have her out there under the car :laughing:

My real gripe with her is she has no notion of trying to avoid large bumps or potholes...

Well my wife loves to buy gas... She even filled her dodge truck up last year with gas...about 30 gal worth.

Too bad the truck is a diesel.

$600.00 later it was all fixed.
