Illegal to buy gas?

DOH! on the gas / diesel issue.

I'd expect the same thing from my wife when she occassionally needs to borrow my truck if her's is in the shop or whatever.. but since she don't buy gas.. I guess not an issue..

to growfarmers: well, on the upside.. this new junky gas with ethanol should help with water in the gas.. should suck it right up..

Very true soundguy, still I make her put some dry gas every once and a while just for insurance!

Well guys took 5yrs to get mine to stop doing it.I have 4 vehicle and **** if she wouldnt drive each one down to E,then I get in one to drive it would stop and fill it up then so on with each.I would get on my 4wheeler on E,then go to use the prowler it would be on E. So we sat down and had a come to Jesus meeting,she even takes the gas cans with her now days.Came down to thats how her dad was he was the kinda guy that would put 5dollars of gas in truck everyday of the week,and he did that so know one would ask to borrow the truck,so everyone did the same,come to find out the whole family bunch of tight asses.....

Brother borrowed my Dodge Neon today, and lo and behold, when I got in to go to my night job, the gauge was BELOW the empty mark, I wasn't sure Id make it to the gas station. Just had dumped the last can into the lawnmower. When I filled it, I put in 12.65 gal. The tank holds exactly 12.9 gal.

I changed out the fuel pump recently, dumped in a 5 gal can, and filled up the rest of the way at the pump, so I know what it holds.

Why is it that I get the feeling that if the situation were reversed, and I had borrowed his Cummins, run it almost out of fuel, and then said, so what, He would have kicked my butt, but my little cheap good running car is no big deal?

I have a great neighbor who I do favors for with my tractor. One day I drive up to my house and there are five brand new 5-gallon jugs of diesel sitting in my driveway. He just decided that he needed to buy me some fuel. Since he didn't know where my diesel cans were, he bought me all new ones and filled them. What a guy!:thumbsup:

I had a warranty issue with car repairs as a 19 year old, and the company couldn't fix the car. They even sent it out to everybody in town to get them to fix it, to no avail. After the first couple of times, I suggested they rent me a car, but no deal. They wanted to reimburse me for a rental, but I was too young to rent one. So the compromise was that they would pay me taxis cab fees or if I used my roommates vehicle, taxis cab rates on his vehicle. All I had to do was tell them where I went, and they would hand me a check for the costs. I went all summer running the streets in my roommates truck, making money, and all he asked was that I keep the vehicles full of gas.
Ten years later I stopped by that shop since we were on vacation and the car should have had the oil changed before I left, but didn't get to it. I was standing by the service writers desk with my car up in the air on the rack and the manager came running out to the shop, asking which car was mine. I proudly said that '66 Corvette over there. He told the Service Writer to get it down, and get it out of there, that they didn't want my business. Guess he must have taken some heat for the screwup ten years before, as this was a nationwide company, not just a local shop.
I try to keep them full every since, but I haven't been able to install this trait into my bride...

I do the same... returned on time and ready for use... fuel, oil, clean, etc.

I once borrowed a book from a friend on the castles of Germany... my 2 year old niece was visiting and damaged it...

Was able to find one on the Internet and had it expressed to me... then I returned it to my friend... he said that I would get more enjoyment from it and gave it too me...
