EPA vs IRS..... both are just as bad. The citizens do not have input on how those two do things to affect our lives.
Our state Ecology Dept has been doing something w/ water rights for OVER 25 years. The case started when I was a KID! Surface water and irrigation, they wanted to set user rights or something. I even testified that we had been farming here since the place was bought and got water from the irrigation district! To make things worse, right when the end was near, when they would finally say this person has this right, they do not, the Federal govt comes in and says the state Ecology Dept has NOT authority to dole out 'rights' on the Indian reservation (or something like that- our PRIVATE property is w/in the border of an indian reservation).
The newest off road diesel engine I have is in a 1982 JD 2240. So this low sulfur for off road being illegal does not concern me on a mechanical affect/dangers.
If they are worried about how much 'sulfer' is shot into the air, then take a look at this.
Smudge pot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
That uses about 5-6 gallons of diesel. You might get 2-3 nights of use, depending on how early or late you light it vs how hot it is set. Gives a nice black hue in the rising sun. That my friends is the reality of Ag. Now if they are truly care about the environment AND ag business in the USA, they would sell 'heating oil' that is exactly the same as low sulfur off road diesel AND charge the same price as heating oil. (I can dream can't I....)
Here, to my knowledge, is not illegal to use 'heating oil' in an off road diesel engine. I have not check to see if there is a price difference, but here, the last I checked, off road was heating oil.
(I don't even want to think how much fuel will be in the fall..... and that stuff will be the road diesel for the semi's....)
