The person who said that is narrow minded and really needs to give their head a shake. The Japanese build amazing small diesels, and the global economy is here to stay. Final assembly here still creates jobs, can't forget that.

The person who said it was in reply to the OP saying this,

HOWEVER, those who buy DEERE tractors and equipment usually DO NOT have to replace them every few years, UNLIKE the cheaper brands and imported c--- that many buyers seem to waste their money on.

The thread went off on a tangent from this point but it really had nothing to do with Deere and no one was bashing Deere or Yanmar. Some people took offense to the OP's reply I quoted above.

Yeah, like the towing the baler thread went from talking about actually towing a baler to talking about the old International 1066 and John Deere 4440 and which was better and so on. It was actually a very civil tangent though but a long way from the OP's topic

If someone that cries about having a Yanmar engine a John Deere because Yanmar isn't American... why don't you go complain about Kubota, who lie about their HP ratings and don't do any of their work in America.

Yanmar makes a great reliable engine, if they didnt then JD would use different engines. But for the quality and the price, they cant go wrong. At-least JD assembles their tractors in the U.S., they could have them assembled elsewhere. :confused3:

I've heard and read here on TBM many people say that the x55 series CUT's were some of the "best iron" John Deere ever sold.......

If I'm not mistaken, John Deere contracted with Yanmar to design the x55 series.

I think this thread is starting to get way off track to. As will said, the global economy is here to stay. Take it for what its worth, and when it comes down to it, no one can tell you what tractor you can and cannot buy with YOUR money. If you want a china tractor for 1/2 the price of a better one, good for you. If you want to pay TOP dollar for a TOP brand, good for you too. I wont begrudge anyone for what they choose, because honestly, it is none of my business. Even the kubotas, that are 100% japanese, create a TON of jobs here, with dealers, service, parts, etc.

I would reccomend you edit your post while you still can. This IS a friendly and enjoyable forum. There are members here from ALL over the world. Including those you are be-littling. I take the tone of your post as a bit racey:mad:

And you know this for a fact and have proof to back it up????

Kubota is held to just as high of a standard as any other mfg in this country. I am sure they are NOT lying about any of their numbers any more so than the next company.

So unless you have concrete proof to back up your statements, you may not want to come on a forum (that was actually started as a kubota forum) and has a TON of VERY happy kubota owners and start shooting off your mouth about kubota. That is a very quick way to be a very dis-liked member.:confused2:

I owned a Yanmar YM276D, 4wd 27hp for 28years. I believe this Yanmar in its day was virtually the same as a JD955. The only difference being the Yanmar had a "Shuttle Drive" transmission, and was painted red. I think the JD's were either Hydro or geared at the time.

My Yanmar ran perfectly for all the years I owned it. All I ever did to it was to change the oil and grease her regularly, and changed out the battery a few times. It never failed to start in any temperature, winter or summer.

I just traded her in last year on a new JD2520, and actually got $700 more than I originally paid for it on the trade. Granted, $700 then was a lot more than $700 today, but I certainly was happy. One of the major selling points to me when buying the 2520, was that it had virtually the same engine in it. I can only hope that the 2520 ends up being as good a tractor as my Yanmar was.

Somebody of the Front Porch here is belittling my 4210, saying "it's a Yanmar, and the only thing JD you have is the sheet metal....." and furthermore, that I am giving the JD owners a bad name....

If you're going to quote me, then you better get it right.

Here's the thread

Here's my post.

Two points to make.
1. I don't appreciate someone who can't understand the simple words I type without misconstruing them and attempting to cause issues based on your misunderstanding. Stop trolling.
2. You give other JD owners a bad name by name calling and acting a fool regarding "cheaper" tractors.

Newsflash: EVERY comparable tractor is cheaper than JD, simply because it isn't painted green.

For the rest of the peanut gallery: I never once spoke ill of Yanmar. I'm quite fond of them. What I'm not fond of is paying green paint prices for them though they are great machines.
