If you're going to quote me, then you better get it right.

Here's the thread

Here's my post.

Two points to make.
1. I don't appreciate someone who can't understand the simple words I type without misconstruing them and attempting to cause issues based on your misunderstanding. Stop trolling.
2. You give other JD owners a bad name by name calling and acting a fool regarding "cheaper" tractors.

Newsflash: EVERY comparable tractor is cheaper than JD, simply because it isn't painted green.

For the rest of the peanut gallery: I never once spoke ill of Yanmar. I'm quite fond of them. What I'm not fond of is paying green paint prices for them though they are great machines.

Two points to make:

Neither of my John Deeres has a Briggs and Stratton as you infer.

Those who buy cheaper tractors that are not painted green, get exactly what they paid for, a cheaper tractor. Nobody ever will be able to purchase a tractor with the reliability, parts and service network, owner loyalty, and resale value a Deere gives their owners. PERIOD.

Poor Plowboy....

Somebody of the Front Porch here is belittling my 4210, saying "it's a Yanmar, and the only thing JD you have is the sheet metal....." and furthermore, that I am giving the JD owners a bad name....

What kind of tractor did that "Somebody" have? I'd guess it was a Deere, but what model?

There were quite a few Deere designed, Yanmar built CUTs...but the only Yanmar item in your 4210 is the engine. However, Deere makes very few parts...most are purchased from suppliers. Deere is mostly an assembly company.

About time you jumped in Roy, nobody here on TBN supports Deere like you do...."Somebody" appears to have a MF, whatever else those two words might mean....

Really??? no one does. I really doubt that alot. When my JD front axle gears broke, JD blamed ME for doing it. It turns out that a good majority of the 770,870 and some 1070's were afflicted by this. They didn't stand by it at all. Now don't get me wrong, i liked my JD tractor, but John Deere dealers aren't saints. No dealer/manufacturer is. I have a Kioti now, and i love it. As yo say it may not have the same resale as a JD would have....but then again it was A LOT cheaper for more tractor to begin with.

I think that there are alot of other manufacturers out there making very good equipment, and just painting it green doesnt make it better. IMO

All of my tractors are Massey Fergusons and International Harvesters. The point of that other thread that he extracted my quote from has absolutely nothing to do with John Deere, Yanmar, or any other manufacturer.

He was being condescending and trash talking every other owner in giving the perception that his John Deere's are superior to all others. I was simply making a point that neither of his "tractors" are JD powered. Whether it's B&S or Onan is immaterial. The fact is neither are JD.

So, here you are trash talking on a Deere forum...I wouldn't waste my time doing that on a MF or IH forum...

You made my point for me. Your elitism and attitude is doing a disservice to all other JD owners.

I would wager that AGCO has a parts network that rivals JD.

Reliability? 2000 hours trouble free thus far.

Resale? My 2001 tractor sold in 2009 for $1500 more than I paid for it. Whether a JD would do better doesn't matter to me. I didn't lose a dime.

Keep in mind that I'm talking real tractors here, not riding lawnmowers. Pardon my error in assuming that your JD 318 lawnmower was B&S powered like most of them were, rather than Onan (not JD, either.)

I agree with you 100%. Just cause its JD doesnt mean its great or the end all of all tractors. They have as many issues as any other company. Its just like the Ford vs Chevy debate... there will never be an end to it (unless Chevy goes bankrupt hehe)... and i too get sooooo pissed off at the close minded people that berate every other tractor out there (or car) cause its not the one they like.

No mater that the companies that are building them are newer with robotic assembly lines and top of the line equipment, skilled labor, etc. I get tired of the same old speeches.
