I\'m comparing the BX2200 and the B7500.....

I have a B7500 and I've noticed that ALOT of the users here have the BX2200 and I was wondering what is the big difference between the two?? What made you make the decision to but the BX over the 7500?? Is there something I'm missing or is there things that the BX can do that the B7500 cannot.I know it sets lower to the ground but what else?? Do you have any pics of your BX or your B7500 in action??
Thanks, Donny /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: I\'m comparing the BX2200 and the B7500.....

The two are very close in comparison. The BX does a better job of mowing due to the floating deck design, which I think is the biggest draw, but there are other things too. I like the reverse arirflow of the BX, keeps you cooler,a nd easy to wipe off grass finings from the radiator screen without stopping. Also the low center of gravity is very nice on slopes.

The 7500 is better for working in rough terrain, such as the woods due to it's higher ground clearance. The 3pt is also a better design and can handle more implements without fiddling around with it. To each his own, both are fine machines, just designed for different primary uses.

The BX2200 is a lawn mower that can also do tractor chores. The 7500 is a tractor that can also do mowing chores.

The main difference is that the BX sits lower and has a limited lift height on the 3-point (limited catagory 1). It's mid-mount mower is ideal for grass cutting.

The 7500 has a standard class 1 3-point with a higher lift height. The mid-mount mower is adequate for mowing, but doesn't excel.

Re: I\'m comparing the BX2200 and the B7500.....

I chose the BX2200 over the B7500 due mainly to the low center of gravity. My property is on a hillside so stability is an important feature. My property is comprised of lawn, garden, fruit trees and flower beds (no woods). The low ground clearance is not an issue in my case. However, if my property had woods or rough terrain, I would go for a 7500 or 7800/2910.

Re: I\'m comparing the BX2200 and the B7500.....

The BX series was designed as a sub-compact tractor to give someone a unit that was extremely well built and well optioned that only needed a excellent more versatile garden tractor or one with a lot of useful bells and whistles. The B-7500 series although the size of the BX competiters is and was meant as a full featured compact tractor.

I think the biggest difference is the strength of the hydraulics. If I'm not mistaken, the B7500 hydro pumps put out 7 GPM versus only 5.5 from the BX22/2200. On the other hand, I don't consider the hydraulics on my BX22 under powered by any means. I went with the BX22 based on cost and convenience. A B7500 with MMM, FEL and BH would have been about 5k more. I don't know how hard/easy it is to remove the MMM, BH and FEL from the B7500, but I can't imagine its any easier than on my BX -- Kubota engineers really did a great job on the BX22 design.

There is more than that as much as that is very obvious. The rear differential is heavier as well as the engine is bigger. Most all is a little larger. The B-7510 actually fits in nice with the size of the JD2210 and MF2300. They are all about the same height and width just the B-7510 has a little longer wheel base for a better ride. Kubota does a great job of balancing the tractor size and pieces used to fit different sizes together.

Re: I\'m comparing the BX2200 and the B7500.....

If the B7510 is the updated version of the B7500, it is not comparable to the JD2210. The 2210 has the lower ground clearance of the BX, around 7" - 8". The B7500/7510 is more comparable to the JD 4010/4110, with around a foot of ground clearance. As JWE pointed out, this can make all the difference on uneven terrain. I owned a JD2210 for a year, then got a B7500 after I found I didn't have enough ground clearance in the woods, which was an expensive learning experience.

A few other BX vs. B7500 differences that I've noticed (some of these may have changed in the upgraded models), in no particular order:

BX has no tachometer or cruise control, B7500 has both. The JD2210 has tach, no cruise, and no coolant temp gauge.

BX (also JD2210) has an electric fuel solenoid, B7500 has a manual fuel valve, which must be used in addition to the key switch when starting or stopping the engine. While the manual valve may be theoretically more reliable, it is definitely less convenient.

The BX (also JD2210) has a completely hydraulic power steering system, while the B7500 has a power steering gearbox. This means the steering wheel always returns to the same position, a particular benefit when using a spinner knob. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The B7500 has adjustable rear wheel spacing, the BX (and JD2210) does not.

The B7500 has significantly greater front loader lift capacity (and optional backhoe digging force) than the BX. The 2210 loader capacity is closer to the B7500 lift capacity, with somewhat slower response. The 2210 also has a nicer easily detachable bucket available in several widths.

The BX (and JD2210) offer the choice of turf or "bar turf" tread tires. The B7500 will accept turf, industrial, or agricultural tread tires (but not all using the same wheel rims).

The B7500 has individual rear wheel brakes, the BX (and JD2210) do not. To be fair, due to pedal location, the individual braking feature is only useable with the gear transmission version.

The B7500 (and JD2210) have radiator drain valve, BX has drain plug.

That's all I can think of for now.

Re: I\'m comparing the BX2200 and the B7500.....

cbh, when comparing tractors most times first we look to the size then we center on the differences within a catagory, I'm so used to people telling me about the 2210, BX that my dander gets ruffled as it physically is nearer the 7510 then the BX except the ground clearance. The problem with Deere is the X series is so expensive for what it is that they don't want people to knwo that there is a better solution for a better price known as the BX. Excellent comparison by the way!!!

It sounds like CBH has did his homework. Now where are all the pictures??? I was wanting to see lots of Kubota pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You said a mouthful /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif One thing I noticed after owning a BX1800, and a BX2200 and now a B7500 is that the engine doesn't require near the RPM to reach PTO speed. It is also much smoother, not as much vibration as the 2 BX tractors. It also seems to have much more grunt with the rotary cutter than the BX2200 did.

Hi...............
I know, alittle off topic, but how did your race season go? We (brother and me) only got to see the one test run but were wishing you a good year.

It was a good season in which we didn't break the transmission. We did find our breaking up problem after leaving TDR, the dist. cap was shot. We went some rounds this year, found the ignition was not up to the fuel loads that we need to burn so next year will be some hotter spark and hopefuly mid to low 6's with some consistency.
