Here is what I used. From Home Depot:

3" steel wheel casters 300 lb each.
5/16 carriage bolts at 3.5"
5/16 nuts and locking washers.
2x6 lumber

I may end up adding plywood to the top, we will see.

The largest dolly is for my Grapple (920#) ..it is 6 wheels. The "T" shaped one is for my rear blade (700 #). The smallest one is for whichever of the bucket or PFs are not on the tractor. I know...pallet forks really? Probably didn't even need the last one, but thought it might have other uses as well.

I used the 4 carriage bolts to secure each caster. I had to cut a few of them to ensure the wheel rotated fully.

I am considering one for my Backhoe, but at 2200# it seems a bit much to have to wheel around. We will see how it goes over the next year.

I built one for my back blade, 7 footer. I found that I don’t want any weight in the middle, so I put 1x4 raised strips on the ends. That keeps the weight over the wheels, lessens the chance that it will sag in the middle.

Here is a neat idea for forks:

And set the bucket on this one when using the forks:

Finally built a dolly for my Mahindra Max28XL MB63 Backhoe. Drop the boom so the dolly catches the bucket, it self centers. A little down pressure, pull the pins from the backhoe/tractor mounting plate, Raise the boom, dropping the entire unit. Support arms keep the stabilizer legs from "drooping" over time...

Tiller dolly. Tiller weight is on the side skids. Tillers tend to be front heavy, so I wanted to be able to back up over the dolly, and set it down. So I made the front uprights foldable by welding a hinge onto them.

IMG_6805.JPGIMG_6837.JPG
Box Blade Dolly. 1 1/2" Square tube. 1.5" wider than the box blade. Used angle iron to align it, and keep it level for easy attachment.

Sprayer Dolly. Lifts it up for easy connection The easiest of all to build. Used Angle iron to accept the round tube base of the sprayer

I havent really felt a strong need for a series of dollies but this one is pretty cool. Maybe all the matching OEM paint is just too convincing.

Is it top heavy?

Wow.
That's some fine work. Your implements got to be some happy campers with them personalized bedrooms.

My cheap, scrap barn wood and 2x6 box blade dolly.

The only thing I bought to build it, were the 5", 450 pound rated casters:

Works with the rippers up or down:

No Kidding. I thought I was being slick when I screwed four 4” casters on the bottom of the big pallet my 84” tiller came on and bought a few of the HF furniture dollies to set other implements on.

I'd like an idea for a hydraulic auger mount. They are sorta clumsy.

I have lots of implements.....and keep those with a PTO inside my pole shed. Some implements need to stay outside in weather.....and they may cost more to get under the roof than the implements cots.....thus they stay outside. Most of my inside Implements are put on dolly's.....or are easy to pick up with the tractor. I have a few that are difficult to handle....and I bought an engine hoist to handle those. It really works slick to pick the 3 point post hole digger from my tractor and move it to a spot in the corner of my shed where I hang it from a 2x4. Mostly I use this cherry picker to hold and move my tiller....where it performs nicely. I paid $100 for a used cherry picker (engine hoist) on Craig's List....and there were several to chose from. Good investment.

Here is my skidding winch dolly. I custom made the base from swivel casters and 2x4's so it would fit right. These are awkward to handle, so this one is set up with a prop bar that it leans back on (towards the wall) that is captured so it can't slip out. You can roll this up to the tractor, tilt it forward slightly, pull the prop and mount it directly to the 3pt. PTO shaft stores on the dolly too. This is about the minimum space it can take and still be stable.

Only one I have had to make was for my brush hog. So just a couple HF Furniture movers tied together with 2x6's. Some of the ones in this thread are awesome!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the concrete floors in barns and sheds that allow people to roll heavy things around on itty bitty casters.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the concrete floors in barns and sheds that allow people to roll heavy things around on itty bitty casters.

I grew up on a small dirt farm. We scrimped, scrapped and cherished every lousy flat piece of concrete we had. When we built the dairy cow barns, my father had us haul field stones from the rock piles and we lined the bottom of the concrete pad before pouring concrete. It saved a lot of concrete and none of that concrete ever cracked.

When we poured the new shop back then, we poured 6 ft of floor around the inside walls to walk and roll welders, compressors and carts around what we were working on but the center was dirt. We were always crawling around under equipment, trucks, and tractors in the dirt. When we finally had enough money, dad poured the middle part in sections as we could afford it. Always used the left over concrete for ramps up from the dirt part.

When I built my new shop I not only poured the entire floor with radiant heat, drains and high polish, I poured as large of an apron around the outside as I could. Was it expensive? Yes. Would I do it over again? Every single time.

For me mainly to preserve the equipment and organize space in the barn. I have hydraulics and hoses on my grapple and rear blades.

Yep, I have concrete floors because back in 1984 my storage building had a dirt floor .

Now a whole nother dolly build idea.

Started with an old office chair base, two 2 by scraps screwed on from below. Then a mini movers dolly with the casters stolen for a bigger dolly, screwed on to the 2 by scraps:

The top spear that fits into the vertical receiver, sets on top:

The shorter bottom spear that fits into the receiver hitch, drops into either side hole:

Both pieces fit on the Omni Transformer 3 point hitch that is stored on a mini movers dolly: Transformer - OMNI Mfg LLC

Here is is all together and ready to pick up a big round bale:
