That seems to be a lot of over-reach in that law.
Seems a little extreme for that area. But then, certain areas of the country have even stiffer ordinances.
The neighborhood I used to live in, in Winter park Fl, was nuts. It had a volunteer Home Owners Association, as well as being in two separate counties. The volunteer HOA could only enforce county ordinances since it wasn't a deed restricted community. Where the confusion came into play was each county had different ordinances
Orange county was bump your head ridiculous. Couldn't work on anything in your driveway unless it was just topping up fluids. Can't block the sidewalk even in our driveway. You could get a nasty gram with stiff fine if something was blocking that invisible line for the sidewalk.
Nothing parked on the lawn, no unregistered vehicles in veiw. Motor homes and campers have to be parked behind an 8ft fence to block unsightly views. You can't have an 8ft fence on your property. Max fence height allowed is 6` :banghead: No tandom axle vehicles. No vehicles over 6,000lbs (This one isn't enforced to an extent, too many old ladies and suburbanites driving hummers, but commercial trucks are a no no. Trailers, boats, ect.... have to be hidden behind a fence unless your loading up to head out somewhere. Plus many many more fun things from lawn height, maintenance, paint color, ect....
Seminole county was pretty lax. Most community's have regulations for lawn height. Keeps the skeeters, and snakes to a minimum. As long as someone has a path through your driveway for the sidewalk your fine. Can park on the lawn. Can wrench on something in the driveway. Can have a commercial vehicle parked in the yard as long as it's a single axle (service truck, flat bed) f550 or smaller. Boats and trailers can be in the front yard. They did have the same ordinances when it came to campers and Rv's.
I lived on the Seminole county side. Drove an F550 service truck, and roommate had a boat. I got pretty good at politely telling someone from the orange county side of the neighborhood to p@@s off :cool2:
