Anyone know if those tracking monitors fit only new vehicles?

Off topic... I did have a policy years ago for a rent house... tenant was watching superbowl and frying fish... kitchen caught fire and did $5500 damage... insurance paid, less my $500 deductible... then it sued my tenant for negligence... so even being insured I still lost... my tenant had a payment plan for awhile and later filed Bankruptcy and stopped paying rent... about the same time the insurance cancelled me for loss.

I did hound the Insurance company later because a lawyer told me I am due my deductible back or a portion of it on a sliding scale if depending on how much the insurance recovers... I did get about half my deductible back...

Since making a claim can get you cancelled... I raised my Deductibles to $2500 and so far it has worked out...

OK... makes sense because this is when the newer emission systems started.

That would leave me out except for my 2002 year model that I put the least mileage on.

Yep, it needs OBD-II to work (charge, get engine RPMs, ECU speed, etc)

I use an Independent agent for all my insurance needs.. Commercial and private..

My agent is able to shop many different companies to get me the best rates .He has always beat a captive agent's rates..

I have been told ,that it cost more to fully insure an older vehicle ,than it is a new vehicle. Also, insurance rates depend on a lot of different things. Ie, how much liability coverage you have, speeding tickets, what your deductible is, region you live, etc,.

I have it down for 5,000 miles a year and clear DMV and No Claim's history... been with the same company for 35 years...

Insurance seems to be one of the great mysteries left in life... few know how it really works... often, even a broker with be 100% certain and then learn he was wrong...
