2520 with 200CX was 21,5 plus tax. Then I got the rear tires loaded with calcium on my own after that. Pretty bare bones compared to your path but we are broke.... :)

Yeah, but it is a good machine. I hope you have a lot of fun with it.:)

vintagemilano you should have bought one from USA. Importing is so easy and requires nothing but a 6% gst. For a few thousand dollars more I got the back hoe and the mid mower. The money I saved going to USA dealer is the reason I bought the back hoe. I figured the back hoe was free when I compared 2520 canada pricing to 2520 usa pricing.

Either way a great machine and over 20 plus years of ownership the few thousand difference will work out.

I have another week or so to go until I get it, the grass is getting very long I need it now:rolleyes:

I guess I could have. I don't mind that much, we don't own anything that could tow that kind of weight, I don't know if you can take a rental back and forth across the boarder, probably could.
It's all good, the deal is done and we are happy to be using it.

vintagemilano - I don't own a trailer either, or have the time to drive down to usa to pick it up. The USA dealer arranged shipping for around .55 cents a mile. I happen to be 380 miles away, so 400 Canadian dollars give or take for shipping to my door, this includes the $40 dollar charge for brokerage fee.

The huge savings plus no PST which is over 2 thousand, paid the 400 shipping over and over, and I still came ahead.

I agree I wanted to buy locally also but no way I was going to pay the Canada John Deere dealer an extra 5 grand for the sake of being Canadian?

Either way I can't wait to get it, I am reading about the problems people are having on the 62d mm and it is making me nervous.

Great information, it's hard becuase 1 side of me wants the 2305 and the other side wants the 2520:D

What are some of the prices or going rates you guys paid for the following:

2520

62inch mower

61inch FEL

backhoe.

Chris2520, what did the JD teeth cost? the current dealer I am in contact with said no teeth are avail. for the FEL bucket.

Also the dealer is telling me the ballast box is not needed on the 2520 and does not come with a front end loader, does this sound right?

In closing this might not be the best place to find this answer, but after reading Chris2520 saying it comes in at 4000 lbs, my property has a septic bed, the septic bed is rasied, has around 3 feet of soil etc. above it, will the 2520 in all it's thunder cause troubles driving over the raised bed area? Any feedback would be great.

Thanks again everyone for making this pick so hard jejej:D
4000 Lbs.is a lot of weight on a lawn.

The only smaller machine I know of that you can leave the 3 point arms on is the Massey Fergusen 2310 sub compact tractor. It's a nice little machine that often gets over looked by people in the market for this type of machine. It's not on Deere's level in the comfort zone, but a durable hard working machine none-the-less.
Yep go give it a test drive.

vintagemilano - If you are looking at that machine buy it from USA and have it shipped in. 2520 with FEL runs around 16 000 USA , add todays exchange rate 1.12 comes out to around 18 000 Canadian. Then add 6% G.S.T tax and some shipping charges you come out to 19 000 Canadian. A savings of 5000 over the BC dealer.

Also for people with the toothbar, is it worth the charge? Does it come in handy?

Laslty, with people that have experience with backhoes in general, what is the deal with the sizing of the buckets? I notice JD offers 9 inch up to 24 inch. I was personally thinking 24", can anyone with knowledge of a back hoe offer the pro's and con's of bucket sizes.

Thanks again.
For me a 16'' is good for digging footer etc. and a 10 or 12'' is good for diging smaller trenches .

Hey JDCAN, welcome. I know from experience that you'll find answers to questions you hadn't even thought of here, and everyone seems to be genuinely decent folk, more than willing to help.
Your property sounds similar to mine, and some projects also. I've run a 425 for 15 years for plowing and mowing, and it was and still is more than capable. I wanted something with more capability to handle some larger landscaping projects, and I wanted a new toy too. I had figured that a 2305 with fel and bh would handle the job, but after reading alot of posts,
For instance, on my 2520 if I wanted to run a MMM, I would have to take off the bh...every week. run be a more economical purchase from the durability perspective. Happy shopping!
One of the big things that attracted me to a Kubota bx23 was the fact I can leave the Fel Bh and MMM on it and use them with out removing or attaching anything.
