What do you call a small compressor? Curious.
Exactly, and a semi truck battery is what your diesel powered F350 (or Chevy/Dodge) will usually have a smaller version of, lol. Not as big as a D8 Cat battery, but a pair might be.Battery chemistry/science/construction varies with intended purpose. The ratings somewhat correspond with that.
My truck is either a 140 or 150amp alternator, but the inverter is in the 5th wheel. It will have 4 batteries in it, with at least 400ah of power. The inverter is rated 2000/4000 so continuous rating of 2K, but the highest pull will be the wife's hair drier (1875 on high) and only for a few 3-5 min bursts. Honestly have not even looked at microwave rating, since it's not a target appliance for this install. Most of the usage will be for the TV and Sat dish type of stuff.
Are you sure the hair dryer is rated for 1875 watts? I have never seen a household appliance including electric heaters with over a 1500 watt rating. If it is 1375 watts that would be a heavy duty hair dryer.
Bigger is better. How about a unit that will both charge batteries and convert battery power to AC
