Yes, then I agree, some are open source, some proprietary, were were in agreement, sometimes hard to communicate in this flat environment.

If we were all in person at a cookout, I'm sure wed all have a good time.

Thought I'd give an update to this. Had a Samsung Tab 4 7.0" give to us. Ok I'm not impressed. It's better than my phone but seems awkward to use. Not very user friendly or maybe I just need more time on it. Seems the app selection isn't there.

Is it android? Right. Seems like droid and iOS sometimes has more selection than windows store.

Check your is settings. That will tell you or look at your app store. If it is Google play, that is android

Everything on it is Google. Even had to get a gmail account to turn it on.

Google is your friend and an educational tool. 9 times out of 10 if i have a question about what is xxxx., i goole the term and the answer is right there. Your at the stage of learning at lot of things about android devices......learn to use Google and you will surprise yourself how quick your pick this stuff up.

Lets start with Apps. Apps are programs that you must press an icon to start. You run it, interact with it drop it and let it continue to run, or get rid of it, until you need it again. Widgets are like little apps that can run on your homepage, and run all the time. Like the weather and battery circles. They do multiple things all by themselves, like show battery level, numerically and graphically. and the time, and weather in various city's, and a short look at SMS messaging, and who you have received a voice-mail from. All these things are running all the time in the widget, you don't have to do anything but look at it on the home screen. Other widgets could be like news feeds. Or what something could think up.
