Is BX22 to Big for my Needs?

I live on 3/4 of an acre and am planning on buying a used bx22 to help with projects and maintenance. My question is whether I should get one with a mower? I have 10,000 square feet of lawn to mow and wanted to know if this size tractor is overkill for this size lawn or ok? Thanks for your help!
What do you mow with now? ZTR's are fast and fun. Tractors with loaders are versatile and fun.............:D

i've got a bx25 and alittle more land than the poster and i'm looking for bigger. something with more fel to turn my compost pile- more fel for moving the huge snow piles- lifting my snowmobile out of the way with forks when the weather gets better... could go on and on. i'm with the others that say it's probably overkill if you just mow but i'm sure you will find alot more uses

I have plenty of uses for the backhoe/loader including a large driveway which takes me about 4-5 hours with a snowblower when it gets deep. I know with a loader I can move the snow and do the job in 1/4 the time and not kill my back. If I get laid off from work I will use it to earn some income with light backhoe/loader work, I use to do sewer installations when I owned a JD300B & ford 1710 with an arps hoe back in the 70's and 80's,just figured the mower would be a bonus and cut my mowing time down from using my little snapper rider.

Go for it. My neighbor (where I used to live) bought a bx for his less than 1/2 acre lawn. We all teased him that he spends more time warming up the engine than actually mowing, but the smile on his face said it all!! You only go around once, so why not enjoy it!

Not to big at all, I've got the BX25 for 7 acres (all flat, old farmland) with a 1/4 driveway. Fantastic machine, getting the 60mmm this spring. You will not be sorry....what price range are they asking

I have a l3540 cab for 3 hilly acres lol, but i do take care of an adjacent 4 acres and have 2 kind of abandoned wood lots i play around in at about 2 acres a piece. Its probably more tractor than you need but i think it will come in handy more than it becomes a problem. My biggest issue is R4s and weight on all finished lawn. I wouldnt have done it if I didnt already have my fathers X595jd to mow with.

Doesn't matter how large your property is, what matters is will you find value in what the unit can do for you. Regardless of property size having a FEL is like have two to three extra people around all the time to move stuff around. Nothing motivates you more to get stuff done than having something like that in the garage to play on and there's no procrastinating due to the hassles of renting. It will mow your lawn to boot. Unrelated but, any property owner who because of a disability or age relies on others for property chores will have a new world of independence open up with a sub-compact and you can't put a price on that.

Go for it!! A zero turn mower or a John deere X series might seem like a better fit but they will set you back nearly the same amount of money with out the versitility of the BX.

My BX25 arrives tomorrow. We have 4 1/2 acres and in addition to the FEL and BH, I am getting a 54" finish cut belly, reverse tine tiller, and a 48" box scraper-I have an old RM59 finish mower to use for the pasture and the areas farther from the house-I'll use push mower for the areas the BX can't reach. The BX will take over chores from a Deere lawn tractor and a troy built tiller-it will also busy itself digging french drains, removing stumps and spreading a gravel floor in the barn. I can't wait!!
